I can be happy either way tomorrow night. Whoever loses really sucks and it's not like a win will really mean much to either team because both are going to suck regardless.

I guess I most want a Vandy heartbreak loss.

Agree. If Vandy fans and players would have kept their ***** ass mouths shut after beating us in our darkest years I might feel differently. Now I hate them as much as Alabama, Georgia, Florida, osu, auburn etc.

1000%. I remember losing to Vandie back in 2005 and thinking, "Huh, well I'll be doggone, look at that, we finally lost to Vandie. Good for old Bobby Johnson, he looks like Steve Martin and is a good dude."

However, when we lost to Snakehead in 2012, after hearing their ridiculous, arrogant arse "fans" actually talk their brand of "smack" to us.....a whole different level of hatred emerged from within my being that I had no idea existed.

I hope SCar beats them 112-0 tomorrow night and Vandie finishes the season 0-17.

The problem is I hate Vandy but I don't dislike Derek Mason. I actually kind of feel sorry for him.

I REALLY dislike Muschamp.

Gotta pull for Vandy in this one.

This is kinda where I'm at. I want Vandy to win 2-0.

I used to kinda pull for Vandy due to it being inside Tenn and I felt a little pity also. But, when they got cocky I lost all care for them and pull against them most of the time.

The only reason I want Vandy to win is because of the arrogant piece of crap coaching SC had the nerve to take a shot at our fan base publicly when it was obvious our coaches handed him the game. I hope he never wins a game anywhere ever again.

Mason is in an impossible situation with Vandy. He'll never get top level recruits and the university won't ever make enough money in athletics to have decent facilities.

It's their fan base that makes them so despicable.

Both fan bases got bad, but Vandy was always the snob even when they sucked. And at least south Carolina fans show up to their games, got to respect them for that

Yep. Mason does seem like a good guy. Add to the impossibility he's following the most successful modern coach they've ever had and he happens to have about the complete opposite personality.

Franklin obviously benefitted from a lot good fortune with the East being so down but he still had the personality that a struggling fanbase like Vandy loves to feed off of. Franklin is a better head coach, if for nothing else he's much better at the "rally the troops" type stuff and being animated. Franklin was much better with the media as well.

The thing with Mason's coaching style, you better win or else you're not going to be a fan favorite. If you are quiet, stoic, and don't win (not to mention look clueless at times), you're a disaster.

LOL, check out the thread on VM called "Stupid UT fans". The guy claims he ran into an obnoxious UT fan in Miami and he said he told the UT fan that Vandy not only beats UT but also wins the East.

So here I sit, in Miami dealing with clients all day, away from my wife on our 20 year anniversary, sitting down in Vandy gear at dinner trying to enjoy a burger and a beer and a damn know it all UT fan approaches to tell me of their greatness. I try not to get into all that crap but this ***** wouldn't shut up. Finally I told the dude not only will we beat UT., we will win the East and play for the CFP. Then I realized that the coaches show was tonight so called and asked coach to get my back. Unfortunately Miami reception sucks so I have no idea how far the message went. Anyway, hopefully our guys are as pumped as I am. So now back to reality ensuring stuff is good for tomorrow but damn it was fun to dream for a minute.

I call 100% BS on his story. I don't believe he even ran into an UT fan but even if he did, I'm betting it was about a 5 second exchange. I don't believe for a second some UT fan just went up to a random Vandy fan and started going on and on about how great we were, and I certainly don't believe he told the guy off like that.

Screw Derek Mason. Good guy, maybe. He is still an arrogant coach with no respect for teams that are better than him. He released a statement taking a shot at Tennessee. In summary, it essentially was begging fans to come to their game (since he knows no one cares) and talking about how special it is to be a primetime game on ESPN tonight and to also be the premiere game in the state of Tennessee on Thursday

He got his ass handed to him last year and will have the same happen in Neyland west in November of this year. The fact that he is still taking shots at us after the past two years is a joke at best, and pathetic at worst. Sometimes people get mad at Butch for just using coach speak, but at least he doesn't take empty shots at teams.

The dead giveaway that his post is pure spun fantasy (e.g. BS) - "So here I sit, in Miami dealing with clients all day, away from my wife on our 20 year anniversary..." Even if there's a shred of truth in this part, it basically declares that whatever follows is malarkey.

On 104.5 the Zone, the Mid Day 180, they were talking yesterday about which game would get the better ratings the UT game, vandy game or the Titans preseason game. All three of them agreed that in Tennessee the UT game would be first and two of the three said the Titans would be second. Sounds like ol Mason is a little butt-hurt.

It's honestly pathetic. Taking a shot at a team that you aren't even close to competing with. After his debut season where he talked about hanging the power T upside down in the Vandy locker room, you would think he would learn.

I was listening to that 104.5 segment where they discussed his open letter to the city of Nashville and even they admitted it came across very sad and like he was begging people to come to the game. Mason compared his Vanderbilt team to the city of Nashville: "young, vibrant, and a thrist to prove itself."

I almost feel bad for the guy........nah, Vandy sucks.

If they couldn't get fans to the game during the Franklin years I just don't think it will happen for them. Of course their stadium is a freakin joke. The team we play tonight has a better stadium and environment.

I'll be honest, after the way we played. I turned on this game and just laughed at the ending. Chalk up 2 easy wins with these 2 on the schedule.
