I just saw their 2014 schedule. No wake forest for them next year?
Apparently Wake Forest is too tough for Vandy to risk playing. There should be some rule against a Div 1 Sec team playing UMass, Temple, Charleston Southern, and Old Dominion all in one season. They could find similar competition from local high school teams, and not have to pay nearly as much for the "payday" games.

That has to be the worst non-conference schedule for an SEC team I've ever seen. 1 FCS team, a team that will be in its second season of FBS, and the other 2 are 2 of the worst teams in FBS.

It is the only way they can have a home game that their fans outnumber their opponent's fans. Already complaining about Ole Miss fans will probably outnumber them at LP.

Good Lord, I just realized ODU jumped up to FBS.
Seriously, since he loves being such an activist, Slive needs to explain to Vanderbilt they need stop embarassing the conference and quit tiptoe-ing throught tulips in the OOC schedule.
That's laughable.
Not really. When you have a team of Vanderbilt's caliber, you tend to turn a blind eye to the weak OOC games they schedule because it makes your overall record even more impressive. Most of the SEC teams tend to have at least one non-conference game that's from one of the big five conferences that's lauded as a decent match up.
But Vandy on the other hand has historically a flop for a football program and can get by with the powder puff games because if they were playing a serious opponent every year, that's just another chalk mark in the L column. And that doesn't help the SEC stats one bit.
If they continue to (doubtfully) have 8 or 9 win seasons, I don't think they can continue to justify a weak OOC schedule without scheduling someone from the PAC-12, B1G, ACC or Big 12.
they play Miss St in Starkville this yr and their fans do not understand/accept that they will be a real good team this yr. they also dont understand you have to have elite talent to run a successful 3-4 in this league. they clearly dont have that either.
