Anyone see her pull herself out of a tournament ont he 16th hole with a 5 month old wrist injury because she was about to shoot a 120 which would get her banned from LPGA events for a year?

I really feel sorry for that kid. I think they pushed her way too fast.

I'd probably go downhill too if I was set for life financially at the age of 15.

John Hawkins or some such guy just ripped her on ESPNEWS tonight. Basically said she's faking the injury just so she could continue to play in select events, such as one the LPGA's majors next week.

I love how people act indignant about what she is doing as if it's bad for the LPGA. If she shows up at an LPGA event and passes gas, it doubles the media attention the event would have gotten without her.

From the article:

"Hawaii's Michelle Wie withdrew from the Ginn Tribute on Thursday after shooting 14 over through 16 holes, aggravating a wrist injury that sidelined her since January.

Wie wore bandages on her wrists during the round and said she withdrew because she "tweaked" the injury and not because of an LPGA Tour rule that bans non-tour members for the year if they shoot 88 or higher. Wie was two bogeys from that scenario when she stopped.

As Wie headed to the tee (the 17th tee), she was stopped by her manager, Greg Nared. The two chatted for a few moments -- Nared even keeping Wie's mother, Bo, from joining the conversation -- before they called an LPGA Tour official to end the round."

That's total B.S. - The LPGA should ban her anyway.

Given the circumstances, I have to agree with John Hawkins.

This is exactly what I'm talking about . . . Maybe she is using the rules to her advantage, but the LPGA needs Michelle Wie a lot worse than she needs the LPGA.

Or more Natalie Gulbis'. I was drunk all this past weekend playing poker till 3am with the golf channel on in the background. I swear they will show everyone of her shots even if she is in last place.

I guarantee you that there are a lot more people that can identify Natalie Gulbis and Michelle Wie vs those can identify the the top 2 ranked women in the world.

Damn GAVol with the stats. Aren't you in that poker demographic? How can you keep up with the LPGA?

Yeah, never heard of Ochoa.

The Creamer girl is probably up there somewhere too, right? Wasn't she the other (much less publicized, yet more successful) teenager? Or was that Pressell?

Discussing the LPGA is fine. As long as it is centered around subjects like Gulbis leaning over to line up her putt.
