The Ministry of Truth thread

^^^^ This is when I get frustrated with some of you. ^^^^

You know damn well that Republicans controlled both chambers of Congress during Donald Trump's first two years in office. Spending bills in 2017 and 2018 could not have passed without significant Republican support, and they could not have become law, without Trump's signature. So why did you say this?
I specifically remember Shumer bragging after Trump signed one of the spending bills. Are you saying Trump shouldn't have signed it?

Unfortunately for me, my salary. As a contractor, my pay is locked at its current level until next renewal/renegotiation. Until that point, I am a fixed cost service while I sit a and watch my savings and my purchase ability decrease by almost one percent per month.
Thanks Biden voters 😡
What I wish we could do is give a blanket party to the state of Delaware for electing this POS so many times

I'm not saying anything which needs to be read between the lines. Republicans held a majority in both chambers during Trump's first 2 years in office. Blaming Democrats for those spending bills doesn't wash.

Seems trump had a lot of fiscally irresponsible outside of covid. Biden is worse and the CBO agrees
Do you honestly believe that less money would have been appropriated in Trump's 2nd term in office, than what we have seen under Biden? That is not the platform that Trump ran his 2020 re-election campaign from.

Once again, I'm not defending Biden here.

The inflation has been caused by poor economic policy around the pandemic. Rather than allow natural economic contraction, we created a bubble.
Inflation of this magnitude has been at least 20 years in the making. COVID recovery has exacerbated the problem, but did not cause it.

But for the last 50 years, it only seems to start under democratic control. Kind of like open borders and crime rates.
It's actually a combination of all govt control. Their policies are inflationary. It was coming no matter who was in office

A landfill doesn't start out of very high the first day

So you think that the democrat's policies are no worse than the republicans policies are?

Has your life been better under democrat rule or republican rule? You can look ahead also.
I'm approaching 50 and it's never been bad honestly. Housing market bust was rough given my industry at the time but other than that I'm good

But you were talking about inflation and I've said how I view it. The spending is always going to catch up with us and it has. The current admin isn't helping much but they, and Dems in general, are in no way solely to blame. The people you vote for continued to this as well

I always tried to vote for the lesser evil. I once tried to change the tide and voted for Ross Perot. Voting for a president is a hard row to hoe.

Yes I think they both are reckless spenders passing inflationary policy. The difference is who receives the money

the republicans used to pretend to be about budgets or at least they gave lip service too it but that ship sailed long ago. The Democrats are bigger spenders now but not by a lot

But you're still supporting evil with that method. POTUS voting is overrated given who controls spending. Putting terrible reps back in DC is a huge issue

These bozo's just need to pump the economy up long enough for me to live my last days in peace and tranquility. I have confidence that my grandkids are pretty smart and can take care of themselves.

They claim it when they don't have the power. To his credit, the last guy admitted he didn't even care about budgets
