oh how i love this month. again, here's a few reasons why:

1. 11 rows of 3
2. Carb Day
3. Jim Neighbors and "Back Home Again in Indiana"
4. the campgrounds
5. a Marlboro/Penske car in Victory Lane
6. the swig of milk
7. the Borg Warner trophy
8. the fly over
9. rainouts on Pole Day
10. Bump Day
11. the Speedway Museum during the rainouts
12. Night Before the 500 at Indianapolis Raceway Park
13. the Hoosier Hundred
14. 'And heessssssssssss on it'
15. 70 mph in the opposite lane behind a police escort

who do you like this year? lots of compelling stories heading into this year's 500.

Did Graham sign for them this week?

But no seriously. I like Indy, I do. But it's the sole reason the IRL lasted longer than CCWS. Tony George is a dumbass.

Indy 500, Richmond, Darlington and Speedweeks at Charlotte all make May a pretty cool month for racing.

Absolutely true, but I like a smaller team winning.

there's even guys like Kanaan i'd have no problem seeing win. i always pull for the underdog teams too, but don't get wrong, Penske racing is still my #1.

The Captain has earned every accolade he gets. There is no one in the IRL who gets more respect. That includes T. George.

I've always pulled for Kanaan at Indy, maybe this will be his year.

the coverage so far has been phenomenal. it's a shame more people don't get Versus.

How about Smoke gettin Andretti in the field with his advice? RHR doing it in the clutch, too.

that was an amazing run. it looked for sometime like he may not make it in, and then out of nowhere he picked up the extra speed.

also, Bruno Junqueira has given up his seat to teammate Alex Tagliani. both drivers should have made the race, if not for piss poor team management.

I couldn't tell that Andretti changed his line except for the first lap entering turn 1. It must have been the car having less rear wing and/or the change in the front wing.

I wonder did Junqueira give up the seat on his own, or was he asked to do so?

i'm pretty sure the sponsors had a rather large say. Tagliani is the full time driver, who the team has a whole business plan around. Junqueira was just in as a one off driver.

You have to give Junqueira credit, he put the car in with only 15 laps of practice. Makes you wonder how well Taglianni can drive Indy.

i'm a little unsure of the events, but Tag's team blew it for him. his car had the speed but from what i understand they kept pulling him out of line and before they knew it, Hunter-Ray was on the track when the gun sounded.
