To add, I believe the commentators had said SC hadn’t run that zone defense in the middle third much if at all. I haven't watched them to know myself but it would make sense. They baited Joe for the deep middle throw. It likely would’ve been a big play if the safety wasn’t in that zone. Ultimately it does fall on Joe to recognize it. He saw the opportunity for a big play and tried to take it.

Someone else said that the announcers had it wrong. They made him believe it was man when it was really Cover 2. I'm not sure and don't want to feed his "haters" but he's got to see the field better than that. He also stared that route down. A guy with his experience should be looking coverage off.

Yes. Milton needs to play better, but when your running backs are getting a minimum of 5.98 yards per carry there’s really no reason to try to take the top off the defense.
