1. UT lost to a good team today. I was impressed with MTSU. They won 25 games and their conference regular season title for a reason.

2. I was very disappointed in our help defense tonight. Stokes and Maymon were both lazy tonight rotating.

3. Trae Golden should be embarrassed for his defense on Massey. Just flat out embarrassed.

4. It was the same song tonight. The team didn't hit from outside, and they couldn't do anything offensively.

5. I did not like the decision by Cuonzo to go to McBee for a 3 when it was 67-64. I thought that was a bad decision. You have to go to the basket there.

6. Another solid performance from Yemi tonight. One of the very positives from tonight's game. This should help towards next year.

7. This team needs another point guard, and if Kenny Hall is done, another capable big, preferably a shot blocker. There are a couple holes that will prevent this team from being top 25 potentially next year.

8. Despite the sucky ending, this was a good season. They improved immensely, and the team had a very good conference record, and even made a run for an NCAAT bid this year, which was impossible three months ago. I think everyone should be proud of the team, and the progress they made.

Till next year :hi:

I would agree but we had them on the ropes and we go the last 7:11 without scoring. MTSU is a solid team, but it feels like we gave up.

Great season. We have some pretty great pieces in place for next season. Next year will be fun. Now for the offseason....

We didn't give up. We just sucked. It would make no sense for a team to quit up by 8 that late in the game.

Quite simply, MTSU exposed the offensive problems of UT. They packed the paint, got physical with Stokes and Maymon, and forced UT to shoot outside. And they didn't hit.

Maybe but we seemed to suck all at once. We weren't great the whole game but we still seemed to be in pretty good command.

.....am I the only that really doesn't care about an NIT loss?

This is the same team that beat Florida twice and loss to Ole Miss.

We're an inconsistent basketball team.

...anyway, let the rabble rousing continue.

Right there with you. Complete waste of time when you factor in the chance for injury. Glad it's over.

Of course I'd rather win.

But geesh, we lost to a 25 win team with a not 100% Maymon.

This season was gravy when we beat Vandy at home. A lot of people were fine with that. But you know people on this board sometimes.

We need a point guard to give Golden a break. He was tired at the end of the game.

I just do not understand why we take a 3 at the end of the game.

I think you are confusing laziness (of Stokes and Maymon) with conditioning problems and injuries.

Maymon gets a pass because of the knee.

I'm not ready to give Stokes a pass in the conditioning. He's not a good rotating defense.

Of course, he should be in high school too.

If we're going to accept an NIT invite, then I would rather win it all. But overall an NIT loss doesn't rate very high on my list of sports things that make me break things.

I hate that it happened the way it did and to MTSU at that.

Regarding Stokes, we have always known that he struggles with help defense. But tonight, his feet were like lead in the final minutes. He just isn't conditioned enough yet, and CCM sure wasn't going to put Yemi in during the last few minutes.

Uh dude, we finished 2nd in the sec and lose to mtsu? This should never happen. Especially at home. I sware, being a UT alum is becoming embarrasing. I'm in Washington getting laughed at by fukn Gonzaga fans. Geez.

Yeah, yeah we lost to a "good" MTSU team, but they were still a 4 seed in the NIT. That's the bottom line.

I'm sure it's because of the sports programs.

That had a case to make the tourney.

I wouldn't read into NIT seeding.
