The National Championship year!

Two hole in ones right into the Grand Canyon with my driver.

Saw the tall cacti in the low desert and drove to Monument Valley.

Stood at the four corners.

Hit a jack rabbit with my rental car >>> dam those things are huge.

Saw a meteor in a sky so dark and so clear nothing has rivaled it since even on islands in the Caribbean.

Saw my brother give an interview about the weather back east>>>he looked at them and said "I don't care, I'm at the National Championship. GO VOLS!!!!!!"

Saw an orange moon rise.

I saw the game.

I jumped and hugged Dad.

Thanks for sharing... Don't worry about what the others say this board is all about making you feel like crap for sharing something that seems cool to you. Heaven forbid you misplace your punctuation or spell a word wrong. If you wanna talk crap about the vols then you will get what you deserve on here but I don't understand why people want to dog fellow fans so much

My dad was a be prepared kinda guy.

They were good seats no doubt.

But probably could have got tickets for $50 day of game.

Yep, saw some as low as $25. I was living in Cali then and a friend bought our tickets through UT. They were $125 each.

He did too (2). He had season tickets (4). He went to every game home and away that year except Vandy. I went to all the home games + SC and UGA.

But he needed 4 together.

He bought them online... I think he traded his two in.

I ain't saying he was smart but I loved him.

Time for a short story. Back in 98' when the Vols were about 8 games into the season, my friend bought me a Michigan poster. He was from Detriot and a huge Michigan fan. Inside the poster was a small device that when pressed would play the school's fight song. I opened the poster while he laughed thinking he got me. When I pushed the button on the device we were expecting to hear the Michigan fight song, instead it played Rocky Top! We couldn't believe it. I knew then that we were going to win the NC. He became a Vol fan from that day forward. I'm bored so I thought I would share. Anyone got something similar to tell?:rock::rock:

Maybe we could make a cool story forum or just tell them to the wives

We had 1 good recruiting class, and got another one going so why don't we get to a bowl before we talk NC, check with me in 17 then I can tell you where we stand when coach took over there was less talent on the team than I ever saw on our team in 42 years as fan, we got to be patient, we were the last pickle in the barrel when coach took over, like he said BRICK by BRICK, I would like to throw a block in there to speed it up but we cant, or it will FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF the process up.

Cool story Joe Brontana :good!:

Saw ASU students selling tickets outside the stadium for $25. Then & there I ceased paying scalpers' prices.:whistling:

It's kinda a 75 year old oak in your back yard...cut it down or keep it?

How much is that 75 year old oak worth?

Can it be replaced?

I agree that it was wise to be prepared going into the unknown. That's why we bought tickets ahead of time.

It was that, indeed. And, I'll bet there are at least 50,000 people who wish they had made that trip. And, we got free chips and salsa.

I wore a Stone Cold Steve Austin shirt under my Vols gear every gameday in 1998. I finally quit wearing it after the 99 Arkansas game. Never wore it on Saturday again! It worked that year though :eek:lol: about midway through the season my buddy would ask if I had it on every week.
