I'm torn on who I want in this one.
I like Duke and Cutcliffe. I really like what he's done there - at that school - while schools like Miami and VT have been struggling. If Miami and VT turn it around with their coaching hires, that - coupled along with UNC's recent rise and how they seem to struggle with Pitt - could very likely push Duke back down a bit. But Cutcliffe has great job security, and with 4 properly scheduled OOC games a year (though they lose one to playing Notre Dame next year) plus playing Wake Forest, GT, and UVA every year...they're almost always going to be in play for a bowl game while he's there. There is that 55 year bowl win drought (though they really should have won that 2013 game against Manziel and A&M...they kind of let them back in that one).
Indiana - besides my sister going there - made it here in spite of that defense. The Hoosiers are also moving to a 9 game conference schedule (meaning they only get 3 OOC games to schedule a year), and can't play an FCS team starting next year (by conference rule). They're in a division with Ohio St, Michigan, Michigan St, PSU (who they can't match up with), Maryland, and Rutgers. While they do get a yearly games against a terrible Purdue, the next few years see their other two cross-divisional games being teams like Nebraska+Northwestern, Wisconsin+Illinois, Minnesota+Iowa, etc. With how bad that defense almost yearly seems to be, it's going to be extremely difficult with that schedule for them to make a bowl game in the next few seasons.
Their coach as also done wonders by making them even competitive, let alone their making a bowl game (he's great at either finding some offensive talent or making what he has on offense work), but with how that defense has been losing them games he likely needs a winning season to get job security. This really could be the last bowl opportunity Indiana might get for quite a while.
