A little off subject but...I'm curious how we'll look back on brays tenure in a few years. On one hand he came in with very little help and stability around him and really showed some moxie and gave us something to be excited about. On the other hand, he never really exhibited the leadership you must have out of your qb to be successful in a league of great teams. And he didn't play his best football with the game on the line. I believe last year 5 different times we had the ball at the end of the game with an opportunity to either tie or win and every drive resulted in us turning the ball over and losing. I think 2 bray fumbles and 3 ints. Those aren't really solid numbers. Either way I wish him luck and hope he succeeds.
hope so, saw a pic of him talking to tomlin from the steelers. hope to god he doesnt go there, would have to hate him twice a year when he was playing my Bengals. would make sense though with big ben getting older, they need a good QB of the future and he needs a few years to grow and develop.

I can't really fault him much for this past season. A lot of people will remember how he didn't get it done in those end of game situations. I think a lot of those same people will forget just how bad our defense was that forced him into those situations. There's no question the guys has raw talent, and I hope to see him continue to learn the game and become more than just a great arm.
The interception was bad, but are you seriously blaming a strip-sack on a QB? That's just grasping at straws. Not saying our D wasn't bad, but we held Georgia and Bray did what? That's right, fumble on one series, throw an interception on another. Say what you want, but if we'd pulled the upset then we would have probably won a couple more games. Bray is a mental midget, he will be nothing in the NFL.
Pretty obvious many posters here don't work in business today. Business today demands personal accountability and responsibility. These posters don't want to put ANY blame for last season on Bray. "It was all the poor defense" is the cry. Well Bray has to take some personal responsibility (blame if you will) for the disaster last year. Certainly our defense sucked, but as previously posted, there were multiple oppurtunities where Bray could have pulled a victory out but he failed as the leader to execute. Does this mean he can't do that down the road? No it doesn't, but it does make one wonder if he has what it takes to succeed in the NFL. He never showed it in the three years he was here. What he did show was immaturity, poor choices, and at times a real bad attitude.
Would you spend a high draft pick on this type of recruit? That is what the NFL teams will ponder between now and the April draft.
saw this on twitter. its him warming up for the pro-day. dude has put on some good weight and finally looks the part of a NFL qb. hope he kills it today. #VFL
Glad he waited until he graduated to bulk up. Yeah, he hasn't had 3 years to bulk up. Instead he used the past 4 months to do more than he has done in three years. Would be a huge warning sign to me if I'm an NFL team.
I seriously think some people in this thread are blind, or didn't pay attention the last 2 years. Bray gained 25-30 pounds while at UT. He came in at 186 pounds with a slight frame. He left at a listed 215, I would say more around 210. Even if we go with 210, that is 24 pounds gained and that was mostly muscle gain. Just look at his pictures between Sophmore year and Junior year, they are night and day different.
Now that he is out of school, I would venture to guess he has a little more time to bulk train. If you have the right trainer who knows what they are doing, adding this much muscle is not that hard.
I don't know why this has had to be explained in a few threads now.
the guy who would have broke countless ut records had he returned. hes also the guy we should all be rooting for to go out and become a big time nfl guy so he can be an ambassador for the program. when our guys have success in the league it helps a ton with future prospects so i dont understand the hate.
The dude did more in four months than he did in three years. Also, are you trying to say that he couldn't have trained like a mad man while in school? Cause he could have. Red flags go off if I am NFL team and I see the all of sudden he is "getting serious." Even if Dookey was a terrible leader, Bray could have been a better worker and leader. Example, if my boss is terrible then it doesn't change me and my personality. Same for Bray, dude took nothing serious unless we played Vandy..... Oh wait.
It's not about getting "serious". He did as his strength and conditioning coach told him. These players have a guide to go by, what was laid before him is what he did.
Now, he has a guide laid out by a professional trainer, with the information that scouts have given him to improve his weight more. That is what he did with the help of a professional. It is not that hard to figure out.
It's obvious you don't like Bray, but quit letting that blind you. I laid out facts for you, 29 pounds gained from the time he got here, which btw is more than the 17 gained before the combine. If you look at his pictures from every year you can tell for yourself that there were big improvements. It baffles me that people continue to hate.

17 pounds in 4 months is more than 29 is three years. I am saying that he has done more in less time genius. Yes, I am not a big fan because he disrespected our program. By not taking it serious, he disrespected it. An example, when he talked to the media and gave smart responses like I didn't watch film because he didn't want to answer questions that day. Poor leadership does not make you disrespectful either. It just allows you to be disrespectful without punishment. I was a Bray guy until the Kentucky game then he lost my fandom. I thought maybe he can mature but he didn't so I didn't care for him.

You mean the game where our o line kept letting jail break blitzes through while they just stood there and we couldn't stop a WR at QB......give me a break...there are at least 21 other guys in orange that see the field in the same game

Yeah that was it. The fact that he held on to the ball was never a factor. The fact that our receivers were open and he just so missed them the vast majority of the time is no reflection on him right? It was the other players, right? The fact that he said he didn't care because he didn't want to go to a bowl doesn't give any indication as to his mindset fo that game, does it? The guy was a genius at throat slashing a team and then losing to said throat slashed team. You guys never address his maturity issues. You act as if he wasn't an immature brat when speaking to the media. I mean one game he thought that he didn't have to address his poor play so he told the media no dice. That guy is the guy you want running your NFL offense.
I can see it now, Jon Gruden want to address Brays terrible performance and Bray says nah Johnny, not now. Btw, I prolly won't even watch this film either Grude.
I hope he proves me wrong. I want him to, but I won't believe it until I see it. I want him to do well but I just am not seeing it.
