First things first, *lose. It's lose. You wear a loose shirt or loosen a screw. You lose a game.

Secondly, it's not irrational to hate a guy whose sole job it is to cover UT Football... who half the time can't even get the oppositions names right... much less UT's own roster.

Finally, they're "Checkerboards", Bob, not "Chuggerboards". I think UT should distance itself from chugging.

The new announcer has huge shoes to fill.

Denton was an amazing announcer.

I liked how he got the crowd all jacked up before a big defensive play by dragging out the down and distance.

"Third............and TWELVE!!!!"

This is a great choice. He has been outstanding at TBA and now he will get to show how outstanding he will be at Neyland.

Went to high school with Jeff, so it is great to see him success yet again. Also glad to see UT choose someone local who understands our traditions. Congratulations Jeff.

Jarnigan posted a tribute in honor of Denton on his Facebook page in April 2014.

He wrote, "There was a reason [Bobby Denton] was so very good at PA duty. He loved every single second of being a part of UT Football. I sincerely hope that UT has an archive of his iconic phrases and that this fall and beyond we honor the tradition of his renderings of "It's football time in Tennessee" and "We ask that you pay these prices and please PAY NO MORE."

That would be ideal for them to play some recordings of Bobby saying his catchphrases. I can't imagine going to a game and not being able to hear that from Bobby.

I have heard rumors that they are going to play a recording of Bobby Denton saying pay these prices and please pay no more and it's football Time in Tennessee just before the kickoff
