Don't know if it's been posted, but Obama was pimpin' this plan comedy style on Jimmy Fallon. It makes me sick how cosmetic politics are, but brilliant move by him capitalizing on the ignorance of the voting public. He makes $16 T in debt seem so ****ing cool.

pretty much my point. Why pay for ENG101 at TTU when it's cheaper somewhere else? I just don't think people are getting the best bang for their buck

I'm a firm believer in getting the basic courses done at cheaper community colleges that transfer credits. No need to spend money at big universities taking courses that don't really matter wrt to one's major.

When my son is college age, that is what I am suggesting. Take a year at community college getting basics out of the way and figure out what you want to do.

Don't disagree but you need to make sure the quality is there. Basic English and Math may not be directly related to one's major but I just had a bunch of juniors and seniors in Marketing bomb part of test that required some very basic algebra.

I personally view something like basic algebra should be a HS skill. If you're taking it in college then you may not be ready. Higher learning seems to take on a different meaning as the years pass by

(although freshman Calc did almost pay all of my soph year tuition so I'm not against the math impaired :))

I agree, both kids knocked alot of that out through dual enrollment in HS.

That does bring up a good point that really chaped my a$$ when I was in school, BS courses! It really ticked me off being forced to pay for classes that had nothing to do with my major or that I was not interested in.
