I'm not a power engineer, so I really don't know what thickness of steel is used, but most transformers are oil cooled and a shot through the cooling fins would drain the oil and shut them down in pretty short order. A shot into the windings would be catastrophic. Shooting the insulators I would think would be quick, but easily fixed. From the reports I've read, it doesn't sound like it's an easy fix, so I would think they destroyed some transformers.

That is correct. The cooling fins circulate the oil and would drain the oil down to the where the round hit. It would take a while though. Dispatch would get low oil alerts fairly quickly and they possibly would be able to make a temporary repair prior to failure. If the round hit at the fins attachment point, it could wreak havoc inside the tank I suppose. I'm just speculating. Haven't been able to get much info yet.

Wait the lady? I thought they interviewed her and left? Hardly speaks to her being guilty. Or at least places a lot of culpability on the departments involved letting a terrorist go.

Exactly. If they had any real suspicions that she was connected to this, sheโ€™d already be detained. Probably some local jackass reported her posts to the police and they followed it up because it was the only lead they had. This damage wasnโ€™t caused because of anger at a local drag show.

the fbi is getting involved with parent's at school meetings. so the bar is pretty low to get the fbi involved, especially if it's real American families concerned about their kids' education

The FBI has shown that they are partisan and a danger to our republic. They are neither trustworthy nor honorable. They are no different than the KGB.

How so? You mean securing the top secret papers Trump absconded with to Mar-a-Lago and which Trump refused to return despite numerous lawful requests?

The other shoe has yet to drop on that and I'm guessing even more of the former Trump cult may be rather put off by the con man once we have a better understanding of what he did and why.

When I first saw this story, ibsaw "drag show" and "North Carolina" and was thinking they were protesting an event at a local dirt track or drag strip.
