I don't know his academic status, but if he's graduated, his career is over, and he decides to move on and get started on his life after basketball, I'm not sure I'd call that bailing on his team. He's played a lot of basketball here and clearly tried his best to play through injury this year.If he left the team and withdrew from school? Not sure. Even still, it would seem a little awkward at that point if he bailed on his teammates to return to be honored as a member of the team he walked out on.
True, but I think he can still contribute to this team without being on the floor. He is obviously respected and a leader of these guys. He can still contribute to this team's success. I hope he sticks around.I don't know his academic status, but if he's graduated, his career is over, and he decides to move on and get started on his life after basketball, I'm not sure I'd call that bailing on his team. Darrin Kirkland Jr. ran through the T after quitting football the spring prior. (I guess he did, not sure I ever saw that confirmed, but Pruitt said he was planning on it.)

Turner has graduated he played all season this year with the graduate patch. The ESPN notification I got said Turner would leave school after the surgery; however the article did’t mention him leaving school. Also, is anyone going to start a new thread regarding expectations now or are we waiting until after the Wisconsin game?I'm pretty sure that Turner has graduated. Actually it might have happened just a week ago.

Admire your optimism dog. We'll lose the next 2. Where are Turner's 12 points going to come from? Assists are going to drop to single digits(bye bye team ball). Who's going to fill the hole on D?(more points allowed) Big IF?If the Vols beat Wisconsin, Saturday and head to conference play at 9-3, go 10-9 in conference and Kansas, end up 19-12 before the SEC Tourney, they make the Big Dance. Very doable and I got $5 on it

Interesting game Wisconsin. They average 56 points on the road. without Turner we average 56.6 a game. maybe I'm a bit more Freaked out than I should be. already had a catastrophic week going(personal stuff). This was just the last straw.I think Turner’s D will he missed the most. No one has “yet” to show capable of replacing the points. Assists will certainly drop, even if James’s jumps it won’t be what Turner’s were.......and whoever replaces James’s “spot” prob isn’t going to be averaging 2.5.
On a brighter note......Tennessee is a “system” team. Because of this the new missing cog may hurt even more......but when/if the system is rolling (and players are hitting open shots) the system can still beat you. Also Turner’s D will be greatly missed; however Tennessee’s D overall has been elite at times this season......that alone can keep them in many, if not most games (as long as the don’t have F ST & Memphis O nights).
It may be a long season, I said earlier that getting to 17 wins could be very hard......but I’m still hopeful.
If Tennessee doesn’t totally fall apart I think a 4 game stretch starting with Mississippi will be critical. Sure they have Kansas in there, but pulling 3 wins would be very important (and I think doable.....that is before I even see how things are going to shake down).
