At least by the end of last year I don’t recall Fulky ever playing at the same time as Alexander. Tbh, Grant was more of a 5 than Fulky was. So maybe it’s not that different

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Barnes expect his guys to play multiple positions. So from here on fulky could be a 4-5 Pons could be a 3-4 and Plavsic could also be a 4-5 depending on situation. Remember Uros shoots long range and Fulky doesn't. Plavsic just creates more versatility.

6’9” 212 vs 7’1” 240. Fulk is a good role player, now that we have another option he should not be starting. If you want to start him, fine, but uros should finish with more minutes at the end.

So Kent should've started over Fulkerson too right? He was taller and weighed more.

FYI Fulkerson is #3 in points per game, #2 in steals per game, #2 in rebounds per game, #1 in player efficiency rating, #1 in FG%, #1 in box score +/-, #1 in win shares

You think Plavsic is going to out-perform Fulkerson in all of those categories?

Won't happen this game, Uros will have to earn starting since it would most likely require shuffling Fulkerson to the 4. I think Uros is more ready than Kyle was as a freshman or Santiago was to play. He had an entire year at ASU to get good weight on him, and he's been here since summer. He should be ready to plug & play and will be ahead of Olivier/Pember for sure in bench order.

Pons simply isn’t very good on the wing offensively. He would be so much better if he was comfortable dribbling the ball. Defensively he’s good on the wing.

At the 4 he isn’t asked to dribble much and he’s not bad shooting around the basket. Far and away his best asset is challenging / blocking shots. Put him at 3 and you greatly reduce his opportunities.

Man...you really do have some sort of hate towards Fulk.

He's without question our most consistent player right now. His worse game was FSU, who is a pretty great team. Otherwise he's pulling down 5 rebounds and scoring 11+ a game while only averaging 28 minutes.

Unless Plavsic can offer more than 5 & 3 he's not earned the start over Fulkerson.

Plavsic has a long, long way to go to be as much of a contributor as Fulkerson has been. There is no comparison between their athletic abilities based on this (albeit very limited) playing sample. However, Fulkerson needs to step it up and take responsibility for a greater leadership role on this team. He looked like he was checked out last night and that's not what he ordinarily contributes. Maybe he needed an extra pre-game energy drink. He'll be back.

It's sad how many of the good regulars don't even post in the game threads anymore. Now it's just the same usual suspects complaining the entire time.
