I want Keon out there as much as possible, but if he is going to average almost 5 TOs per game, it's so hard. He has 18 made shots and 23 TOs in his last 5 games. If his name was Vescovi or Bailey, we'd be screaming to bench him. He has got to rein that in, quickly, because we clearly don't have better options.

Yup, he’s not helping our offensive issues at all, he gets stripped way too easily.

We need to go small, did it a lot tonight, need to continue it. Fulk’s minutes cut down, most of Pons coming at the 5, most of JJJ’s at the 4, if you need ORN then he’s at the 5 without Pons or Fulk out there. Ride the guards...the turnovers have to chill out though, goodness. I know people hate the offense and I’m not trying to make a case it was great, but goodness take care of the ball and we put up 80 tonight, hard to spin that any other way. Our fg% was good, 3pt was decent, ft% very good and we got there a lot...but good lord waaaaay too many turnovers, and most of which were dumb/unforced.

This stuff makes me almost turn the game off. It's infuriating watching them continue to do this crap game after game. It's almost the end of the regular season and there seems to be zero improvement in this area. Guys that are supposed to be NBA 1st round picks are getting the ball just straight taken away from them, lazy and/or stupid passes, driving and leaving their feet and then wanting to pass and seemingly having no idea where they were going with the ball. One turnover tonight was bailed out because the pass hit a Vandy player's foot, but the moment the ball was passed (either Springer or Bailey) it was like "Where you going with that pass?" There were 3 Vandy player in the area and it was going to be another silly turnover.

I do not understand how at this point in the season they are still this bad at this.

I agree, and you can tell Barnes is infuriated by it as well...at one point he pulled Vescovi after a turnover, Johnson turned it over so he put Vescovi back for him, and then someone else turned it over so Johnson came back in lol.

I know they missed time early on for COVID and throughout the year we’ve had guys miss time for injuries so idk if it’s a continuity thing or what, but the turnovers are very unBarnesesque

Wasn’t always pretty last night, but a double digit conference win on the road won’t draw many complaints from me.

Man I hope we win by 20+ Saturday. Any other outcome and this place is going to be unbearable.

Against Pearl, who seems to be our kryptonite, any type of win is appreciable.

Turnovers are such a head-scratcher with this team. Barnes HATES turnovers and constantly talks about the importance of retaining possessions, yet they continue to force passes, dribble in high traffic situations, and look so sloppy.

Fulkerson is an absolute basket case. He starts okay, but at the first sign of things not going his way, he is done for the night.

The push of the player (I think it was his second foul) is an indication that when he is not on his game, his mental state is a total collapse.

It is a bad time of the season to do it, but he needs to be benched totally for 2-3 games to get his head back.

That push was weird. I tend to think that it wasn’t so much out of frustration as it was him trying to push the guy that was all over him away but he’s not strong enough to do that without it looking so obvious. Plus the angle that opened up for TV showed it center of the picture without any visual obstructions and it appeared more unprovoked. Or maybe he did have a mental lapse and just lost his ****.

I think officials are absolutely allowing him to be mugged. Every possession he’s not only fouled, but he’s hammered, held, beaten. I think the frustration of playing thru that just resulted in him losing his cool, especially as that shoved happened with the ref 4 feet behind him.

2 of your best players and defenders are freshman and are leading the way in turnovers, Johnson especially has got to get it under control. Our best lineups include those guys playing big minutes, but if they’re going to turn it over 5x a game it makes it tough.

Winning is better than losing. That's the only positive I see from last night. The team Vandy put on the floor last night would be lucky to win half their games in a low major conference. They did hit some crazy NBA distance threes and four or five threes without their feet set so the 58 points was ok. We should have been able to put a 90 spot on them easy though.

I seen where Arkansas shot 43 free throws to Bama’s 8.

I don’t like Bama but the officiating in the SEC is getting worse & worse.

Is the SEC not gonna reschedule our home game against UF? Seems like a pretty important game as far as SECT seeding goes.

He gets thrown around like a rag doll but that's what happens when you physically can't hold your ground. He is weak and seems to have no conditioning. Officials are just not gonna give you those calls. At least not more than two three times a game.

Yea right, an ugly win like last night against Auburn and people will be saying they same things, not applauding our victory.
Not from me. We can't beat the guy, for whatever reason. I'll take any win we can muster against him. And even without Cooper, Auburn has talented players like Allen Flanigan, JT Thor, Jaylin Williams, etc. It really defies logic that they are as bad as they are with the talent they have.

Florida already has a game scheduled during our next open date (mid week next week) and teams may not want to play a game that last Saturday before the SECT begins. I wouldn’t rule out a Saturday matchup with Florida though if it decides the 4th double bye in the SECT. Plus TN didn’t get their Senior Day opportunity which they could have versus FL. It’s a fluid situation.

Didn’t get to watch the game but the box score indicates that Bama took 33 threes while Arkansas took only 14. I have a hard time feeling sympathy for teams that just jack threes all the time getting a disproportionate whistle against them.

Could you imagine if we were having a season like Pearl is?

Honestly it’s not much of a head scratcher to me. They make some lazy passes in transition but when you don’t have any proper spacing the lane gets crowded and turnovers become more frequent.

So if this has always been the same offense why have turnovers never really been an issue?

Because usually in the past we weren’t this bad spacing the floor and being balanced. We have two stud freshmen trying to create, turnovers were probably gonna go up anyways. But this year teams are easily collapsing on us and because none of our forwards scare teams they are more willing to close off the paint. Also we always seem unbalanced on drives and that creates issues.
