LH was a finalist with Wade Houston to replace Devoe. That was almost 30 years ago. I think that the finalists were Pat Kennedy at FL St, Hamilton at OK State, and Allan's father at UL. Kennedy was the first choice and turned us down. Lamar pushed Wade. Leonard still carried a lot of baggage after being on the Kentucky staff that was caught cheating.

Man, Grant is just the greatest ambassador, maybe ever for UT basketball or any other sport. That was so awesome, look at that kid's face and then Grant comes back and makes a kid's day, probably along with his parents.
