The last 2 minutes of Comfortably Numb is my #1 Guitar Solo of all time. David Gilmour plays that solo live just as good as he did on The Wall album in 1979.

A few other guitar solos that I love:

-John Fruisciante’s 60 second solo at the end of Scar Tissue because it’s such an emotional ballad and marked his return to the band after beating his personal demons. That era was his peak, and he’ll go down in history as a top 15 guitarist of all time. Californication is easily in my top 10 albums.

-Lindsay Buckingham (and John McVie on Bass) during the 3:00 mark onward of Fleetwood Mac’s The Chain. Still raises the hair on my arms everytime. Incredible bass line capped off with a WAILING guitar solo.

-Closer by Kings of Leon... the entire song is dominated by layers of flawless guitar playing and the end result is (in my opinion) the best song on the entire cd. High praise considering that “Only By The Night” is a masterpiece that I consider the last great American rock album. One of the only CD’s to dominate the Grammys for 2 years in a row.

What are some of everyone else’s personal favorite guitar solos of all time?
My favorite of all time is angus young on thunderstruck. Angus is also one of my
Favorite players.

Comfortably Numb solo is great. I love melodic solos.

I like the Solo in Like a Stone. Simple, but love the melody.

Nothing else Matters

Layla Acoustic Version

Beat It (Even though I don’t like Van Halen)

And love the bridge (not exactly the solo) in Bark at the Moon

Mr. Crowley

And all Hendrix lol

Dude Like a Stone by Audioslave is an incredible solo. Excellent list.

Opening monologue was hilarious

Missed it. Brit Floyd was playing Comfortably Numb. SNL reruns a month or two later (and it's probably stream able already).

Brit Floyd hit every note that they wanted to, but nobody can replicate the tone and feeling that Gilmour gets out of his Strat. The Roger Waters vocals were pretty spot on. The backup singers were very good. Quite a tribute band and they're at the TN Theatre on 4/22.

Prince's live version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps is amazing (with Tom Petty, George's son, and many more).

Government Mule / Warren Haynes version of When Doves Cry (Soulshine also).

Allen Collins: Needle and the Spoon

Gilmour: Time

Robin Trower: Bridge of Sighs

Unknown Hinson: Fishcamp Womern

LZ / J Page: Thank You, Since I've Been Loving You

SRV and Jimi H: nearly all of it

George Harrison: Basketball Jones

To name a few...

Price killed that solo. Loved when he tossed the guitar up in the air at the end of the performance.

My favorite part of that tribute was about halfway thru the solo when Tom Petty and Prince made eye contact, it was 2 greats recognizing a very special moment.

With only a glance from 10 feet across the stage was like TP was saying “dude, this is incredible, we have something really special here” and Prince looked back, smiled and nodded as if to say “bro, I know, dude, but if you think this is good just wait” and then Prince took that solo to the next level.

Crazy how they did that live, too.

RIP to both of those guys.

I checked out the ticket prices and was floored by the high prices for a tribute band.

The funny thing is I took my 2 sons to see Roger Waters in Greensboro, NC in 2017, the tickets were cheaper

I'd like to see Track return to their greatness from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. I loved it when several crossed over from football. Flowers, Gault, Kell, Kremser, Pickens, Hancock, etc. Sam Graddy was a world class sprinter that became a WR. Played for the Raiders... I don't think he ever caught a pass for UT. Might have converted to DB in the NFL.
