Just want to point out that for all the crap Santi and JJJ have faced by a vocal minority of our fanbase, they have now led Tennessee to two Sweet 16’s in the 4 years where there was an NCAA tournament.

Admiral and Grant (yes I know Grant only played in 3 years) led us to 1. This is not a slight at Grant and Admiral, it’s just to point out how much I will look back on these Santi and JJJ years and be thankful I got to watch them wear Orange. Love these guys, and I hope they get to be the ones to lead us to the promised land. They deserve everything.

JJJ and Vescovi are admirable because of their effort and yes, they are both fantastic human beings. I respect them for that. They are also the most consistent liabilities on our team and play far too many minutes. I mean JJJ actually backed away from a rebound in the final 2 minutes to allow Texas another possession... he followed that up with an excellent defensive play on Disu but his play overall is especially detrimental.

No way…not last night. JJJ was aggressive. He had a reverse layup, the charge call was bogus, and he was fouled on another drive that wasn’t called. He had 9 points and 9 rebounds (4 offensive rebounds) and had a huge 3 late in the game. I have no clue what some of you watch.

Well that was absolutely a charge... if you've ever played the sport, you know it was. Mashack would do a lot more with those minutes over the course of the season

I want more, I want it all, but I'm always satisfied with the Sweet 16, making it out of that magical first weekend and being in the spotlight for that second is all I ever ask from the program. So to me, the season is now a rousing success and anything beyond the Sweet 16 is tasty tasty gravy.

Agree, it was a charge. I love our fan base bjt we complain way too much about officiating. The refs have allowed teams to play form day one the tourney began.

I’m not a Purdue fan but Edey looked like he had been in a cat fight. You could see all the scratches on his arms during a post game interview.

The game is physical and TN was the benefit of some “no calls” and “bad calls” last night.

Regardless of your feelings, they did “lead” or will have “led” us to whatever we achieve. JJJ had some huge baskets last night. He hit one of our only 3 perimeter shots all night in a crucial moment. He was every bit as important to that win as DK was.

I have been glowing about JJJ in prior posts including last night..thanks. There is certain other player that was thrown in the discussion though. Love the guy and he held a clipboard nicely a few weeks ago. Go Vols….Final Four or bust!

If I ever played the sport? Ha. Learn the new rule. If the offensive player is starting his move, the defensive player has to already be set. Plus, he turned his body. Not only have I played the sport, I’ve officiated the sport. It’s been a block 95% of the time this year.

It’s just dumb how people are criticizing every game for JJJ. If you’ve ever played the sport, you know you need teammates who do things other than score.

Are you a troll or just dense? Did you watch the numerous steals and defense Vescovi played? Without him we probably don’t win either. The disrespect for a guy who is among the career leaders in various statistics in our program is mind boggling.

The officiating is horrid in most games- not just ours. It’s embarrassing how bad it’s gotten. There are things that can be done to help it, but the powers don’t care or don’t want to do anything. The inconsistency is maddening.
