I mean 2010-11 season was the last year... we had McRae, Maymon, Hall, and Woolridge all sitting on the bench getting less minutes than Steven that season. All 4 were former top 100 players.


And I can't remember many walk-ons in my time that played over 330 minutes in each of their final 2 seasons. He shot 0% 3PT for his career and was a 34.1% FT shooter as well. That sort of special treatment impacts team chemistry.

Well when you put it like that.....ok yeah he is the reason. Other than the lying to the NCAA.

The fact Steven Pearl played 101 games at Tennessee says all you need to about the "everything handed to him" point.

He also averaged over 10 mpg his last 2 years here...

Coaching malpractice. Makes me mad even all these years later. Costing your team and costing worthy players a chance to get minutes all to get your precious son on the court. One reason I’ve never been one of the Pearl worshippers even when he was here.

Yeah, the token spot wasn't really a big deal, but it was sort of the groundwork of his silver spoon career where he hasn't had to earn much of anything.
