Last night got me thinking about the "importance" of making a FF last night tuning in and seeing FAU playing Dayton in the NIT first round and losing. They made a FF 2 years ago, beating us, but 2 years later who is in better shape? They were one and done last year in the NCAAT and barely finished over .500 this year and probably only got an NIT bid because so many other teams passed.

We follow up with an EE and now we're a legit FF even NC contender. Obviously we have to get there but would we really have taken a FF mircale run over being largely irrelevant the next 2 seasons? I think not.

FAU lost their coach. I'd guess they'd trade every basketball season they ever had or will for the next ten years to keep that Final Four.

Basilio had alluded to this months ago, saying he was going through loss and some tough things, but didn't specify. This makes sense. Hate to hear what he's been through, but I also think he couldnt have been in a better environment to go through it. I'm sure he's been loved well.

Fantastic team win tonight, and maybe the best half of the season so far (outside of the sloppy garbage time). The ball movement was crisp and the defense was ferocious in the second half, taking away the post entries even with Zakai on the big! So nice to see the team peaking going into the second weekend.

I’m not ready to fully go there but I will say tonight is a game that past teams (maybe not last year) would have lost because the old familiar feeling would kick in.

But this teams pretty much responded by kicking their ass and while the last 5 minutes was a tad frustrating we were never in danger of losing.

Pat would have curb stomped tOSU. This could be a nice win for Kim Caldwell. Winner is in the Sweet 16.
