Excited (and a bit anxious) to watch this series. I’m curious to see how our guys handle the wild atmosphere tomorrow. I suspect they’ll embrace it, but the question for me is whether or not they’ll be too amped up. That’s what happened during the Texas game in Houston. If they can keep themselves steady, I think they’ll be fine.

It’s official, look who is throwing out the first pitch

Classless
I got a chuckle out of it, and I don’t care that much. My wife doesn’t like it.

I sure didn’t like what he did to Tennessee football, but we’ve had three bad coaches since then who screwed it up in their own way.

Also, it was 2009, so the guys on the baseball team weren’t teenagers when Lane was here.

The disdain for Lane may be a younger generation’s equivalent of when Dickey left for Florida.

That reminds me of my best friend who was a huge Ole Miss fan and known for yelling throw it in the dirt at their games.
Familiar with that phrase. When OM plays in Hoover, there's always one fan who yells it out, to which their crowd responds: "DIRT!" Original, eh?

Game Day!

Go Vols!
Getting a Friday night Win in Oxford would do wonders for this teams confidence regarding playing on the road in the SEC especially with the away series we have this year. If we set the tone tonight and get a W, we put all teams on notice that our team is not just elite at the friendly confines of LNS. I am soooo curious and nervous to see how our 3 starting freshman do at Ole Miss. This is from Major League 2 but let’s show the country how big our “marbles” are tonight and beat the hell outta them! Go Big Orange! “ You trying to tell me Jesus Christ can’t hit a curveball?” Hahaha

I’d prefer to win at least one and not have to find out. Pollsters react harshly to up and comers and tend to give a pass when perennial CWS teams lose.

effect vs affect - Google Search

This confuses me also 😎
Ah CP good on you. Reminds me of my mother keeping us in check on the english language and its many nuances. Lie, Lay, to him and me (not to he and I), affect, effect.

Somehow this is still true over a month later, despite the Vols leading the nation in OBP, slugging % (by a country mile), HR (by two country miles), doubles, WHIP and ERA, among other statistical categories.

By the way, Ole Miss is 15th, 8th, 18th, 45th, 48th and 50th, respectively, in these same categories (in D-I). (Ole Miss has twice the ERA and half the HRs as UT.)

Looking forward to this weekend…

All true but until we go into hostile territory and put up wins we aren't gonna get the far-reaching love we want. After all, our SOS is still pretty weak ....in the 100's I believe, correct? Should rise from these next two weekends opponents. Some would argue we are a bit untested from body of work so far. Time to show up Vols!
