I was thinking the same thingThink about what that does to the team chemistry. Do you really want to bench your 6th year guy when the team has won 41 games. Seems like that might have the opposite impact to the team. You don't want guys thinking, "I'm going to get benched if i don't get a hit." Tony is showing faith in him, essentially "I got you!" Might not break out of the slump now, and that's ok, but i think it pays huge dividends for us on the run to a natty.
If you move someone like that to the bottom of the lineup, might as well sit him. Which quite honestly is what I would like to see happen. Moving up changes his approach, or again, ideally. Not working unfortunately up until this point. Hopefully that will change.
