I like and appreciate the positivity and it's absolutely correct. When we think about the basketball Vols that spent 5 weeks at #1 a few years ago, how many of us remember that they won 36 games?? No one without using google. What we remember is the misery of March. None of the beauty of the last 3 months matters come June.
Our base-running and inability to keep other teams from running IS glaring. Nothing brutal about pointing that out. And they've complemented the he'll out of us.
They're definitely a cut above Andy working UT games solo.
I think the reason you aren't getting any comments on this very good question is because any quality answer would be long and even then, it would be speculation.
Look at the hitting this weekend when it's raining; it's been rough for both teams.
Because batting is already sooo difficult, just playing on the road impacts players because you're sleeping and eating in a different place. You're not sleeping as well etc. Coach Vitello has commented on that because he thinks what they eat and how good their sleep is, is very important and even he can't explain their road success prior to this series - he was asked about that at a press conference in the past week or so.
That's just one aspect. It could be one or several reasons out of many reasons. I could expand on those quite a bit, but it would be a ramble.
