The stolen bases are not on Russell, it’s on the pitchers. The runners are 2/3s of the way there before Evan ever gets the ball.

90% if stolen bases against Tn are on the freaking g pitchers. Half the time they don’t look the runner back or even change their timing. Maybe Anderson teachers that but I doubt it.

Holding runners hasn’t been a focus by CFA. He prefers his pitchers focus on the hitters. Evan has a strong arm. Pitchers are often granting them a running lead.

You can’t give up bases for basics.

We had a transfer catcher from West Virginia. Had nice pop. Inexplicably, I’m pretty sure he gave up the sport this past fall. Rumor was that the SEC grind was too much.
