The Official #1 Tennessee @ Vandy SEC Tourney Semi-Final Game Thread (Sat. May 25 4:30PM EST SEC NETWORK)

Watch this quote or you’ll be told you just don’t know baseball or be perceived as a “nega”. Hell, I thought this was a forum for everyone’s input and not a place where people get called idiots for voicing an opinion. Most of the people guilty of this never played an inning in their lives
When a team wins 49 games, makes it to the tournament title game, and is likely the #1 overall seed in the national tournament, and all you can come up with are complaints, then I’m not sure what to tell you.

Not seeing championship caliber strategy, process or methodical close outs in the Mississippi State or the Vandy games, they were wins, but the blown leads, walks, passed balls, and pitching failures won't work in the Super Regional or the College World Series, not sure where Amic's barrells have gone, but he hasn't had a hit in the SEC tournament.

These tournament games do matter, they set the intensity or lack thereof as you start the road to the College World Series.
“Not seeing championship caliber strategy” yet this team is literally in the championship. Some of yall so damn foolish.

Also, it’s AMICK. Check ya facts.

Good Lord, some of y’all are so out of touch with baseball it’s laughable at this point.
For me that logic implied is that if you don't annihilate your opponent, then you are not championship caliber. I find that point of view lacking and immature. This team is still coming through in the clutch. Baseball is mental. You better be strong mentally. That is championship caliber in baseball.

You’ve misunderstood my thoughts obviously.

Loy will start unless they want to be careful with him after getting him hot tonight.
Well, they weren’t too careful with Zander after getting HIM hot last night!

Loy will probably start and hopefully get through the lineup once. After that, we’ll see. They won’t burn anyone out but I imagine once you’re in the Championship game, you go for the win. May see (like tonight) where people have to work out of their own jams.

I agree on Chapman taking over permanent DH. Bargo is still clutch and has a great approach. Peebles as well. I think they are more pinch hitters at this point. Wouldnt mind seeing Amick at DH and slide Curley to 3rd in some situations. Although, Amick has to stop trying to pull everything and stop going after the inside pitch. They have figured him out. He needs to lay off the inside cutter/slider, sit back and go oppo with some line drives.

As far as pitching, I would be very surprised to see Sechrist today. My guess is he is the Sunday starter if we get there. For today, my guess is we see a slew of lefty relievers and hope our offense can outhit the Dorks.

I will say this, they won't pitch anyone more than an inning or two that is critical for next weekend. Maybe Loy or Dallas throw well? Maybe it clicks for Phillips?

Sunday would likely be Sechrist, Russell, Snead, Combs, Behnke
Oops on your starter...Sechrist got us to the prom tomorrow. Revised starter?

I thought an ejection was an automatic 1 game suspension for Head coach? Or, has that rule been revised?
It could have been updated but it used to be if a head coach left the field in a timely manner after an ejection and didn’t prolong their argument then they wouldn’t be suspended. Head coach was the only allowed to do so. Players and assistant coaches didn’t have the leniency.

Isn't there like the normal number of days between when this ends and the regionals start?

Historically, we’ve seen it time and time again. Teams that win it in Hoover don’t make it to Omaha and teams that exited early do. Five straight days of playing in heat takes a toll on one’s body. I personally would have preferred an early exit and a 2 seed versus matched up against a 15 seed Indiana State versus a 1 seed paired with MS. State. At some point you’re just going to have to win the games in front of you, but being the #1 overall and then getting an SEC opponent with 16 quad one wins doesn’t scream “being rewarded.”

I’m glad I’m not the one managing pitching because I have no clue. Lol. Tough decisions.
