I’m not a neganoob

I got no problem with the bat flips (both by the Auburn player and Vitello). I've been around enough baseball players in my lifetime to know that's just the petty underbelly of the sport itself. Heck, if I had hit a go-ahead HR against this Vols team in the 9th inning, I might have done more than harmlessly flip the bat to their dugout. And it's not like Vitello went Roger Clemens on Mike Piazza in the return flip. Story is way overblown from both sides.

Yeah, I find it hard to believe about LNS staff as for fans, that’s disgusting if true.

Yeah, I used to be proud about how welcoming UT fans were to opposing fans. After Cal played at Neyland in '06 local sports talk was full of stories about how great of an experience Cal fans had at Neyland. The next year when UT came out to Berkeley, I talked to a lot of fans that had gone to Neyland and they were all saying how great the UT fans were.

We take a couple of games from KY or MSU and them may have nothing left to play for. Frustration is dangerous drug.
I’m beginning to worry that this team could be easily instigated into a situation.
You’re right, those kids didn’t sign on at Mississippi State, to not make it to Hoover. That could be an emotional series, for both teams.
GBO!!

Yep. Reining National Champs on the verge of season being over.

I feel quite sure the staff did nothing of the sort, which makes the whole story doubtful in my eyes, especially the abuse part. Unfortunately, after the late scuffle, there was a Vol fan sitting below me who kept yelling, “hit him in the head” when the Auburn hitters were at the plate.

Someone seeing that guy should politely tap him on the shoulder & say stfu dude.

Agreed. Sadly, I saw through the grapevine that a member of the family of Auburn's Hayden Mullins (the starting pitcher who got hurt) posted a pretty scathing social media post about how LNS staff and the fans were horrible and abusive this weekend. Not sure what was said to the family, but it is disappointing if that is the case.
I saw the post and think it’s a bit of exaggeration. The main reason is bc the Auburn fan calls out our stadium staff. Our “ticket takers” and ushers are some of the most hospitable and nicest folks you will ever meet. I would be shocked if that mostly senior staff were rude to any Auburn fans. The booing was NOT at injured players—it was for the excessive delays. I hate that any player was injured. Now, if the heckling was mean spirited on Sat and Sun, I can’t speak to that. if it was out of line or there was vulgarity, those fans behavior should be addressed. LNS needs to remain a hornets nest but a family friendly one.
