Yeah man, I’m really confused on how I’m standing right now
Yesterday was rough. Wake up at 4:00 am, going strong all day, came home and cooked dinner for the kids, mowed, got tipsy, last thing I remember we were up in the 7th inning and then I wake up to Dari interviewing our players, post game.
Up a little before 6:00 this morning, with a terrible headache.
I give major props to the troopers that made the trek to Hoover and have stuck it out thus far!
GBO!!

Was at the Bama game when Dolly took that line drive to the elbow, thought he would be done for the year. So grateful to have him back out there!!!
Same here. I won’t soon forget the sound that ball made caroming off his elbow. The chirping from the Bama dugout was classless and was why CFA was so incensed. Coach DVH at Ark was referring to Bama when he made those comments earlier this season that folks incorrectly assumed were directed at TN. I despise Bama.

You will when CTV is hoisting that trophy at the championship parade in downtown Knoxville!
😉
GBO!!

It was tough the first week. Would make a post, refresh and get upset wondering why this rat Bastard is posting the exact same thing I just posted. Then I realized it’s just me with a new avatar.

Willis,
I understand that the SEC uses this tourney format because it is similar to Omaha.

My question, why does Omaha use this format? Instead of having two pods, why not have a true double elimination?
Omaha is a true double elimination format. I think your understanding is off or someone went too liberal with their analogy describing it to you. The SEC format is a modified double elimination format in the middle of what is otherwise a single elimination tournament. It is because of time. You get the benefit of less games if you win early. I think it helps get the best teams in the semi finals and finals.

It would be interesting to see what percentage of teams that make the final came from the losers bracket vs teams that came from the winners bracket.

Coming from the losers bracket is an OK format. The idea is that the best teams get to the end. Last we lost early and won the loser side. We were a top team that had a bad game. That is the desired outcome of the format. That verses getting UK or Alabama in the final games just because they beat a top team once. If they do it multiple times then you tip your cap and move on. They are playing better baseball and earned it.

The way things are looking, Tennessee COULD repeat the baseball tournament just like in basketball. Play Kentucky in the semis only to play A&M for the title...the odds of that....

My son is all over that. He so wants to go the game tomorrow just like we did for the basketball championship game.

Awesome. We began coming to Hoover in 2003, & last night was electric.

It was absolutely incredible. In the 5th inning when LSU scored 2, and threatened to tie or take the lead, their fan base rose in unison, chanting “LSU” “LSU” “Geax Tigers”. “Geaux Tigers.” It cut through the late night air. They were LOUD. It felt intense and intimidating - like a fanbase with proud history. You not only heard them. You FELT them. Everyone around me (Vols) was just like. “WOW.” …..and then something amazing happened ( the kind of event that makes the hair on your arms tingle) In the midst of the deafening roar of LSU fans, an army of Orange clad fans rose from their seats and countered with “Let’s go Vols” and “clap clap clap” for strike 2. For 60 seconds both fanbases (in unison) filled the night air until Dolly whizzes a ball by at 98 for strike. 3, and just like that, TN’s fan base served noticed that we too, have arrived.
