I honestly never believed we would sweep ND. They have a good staff. However we went deep into their BP tonight. If we can touch up the guy tomorrow and get him out early that will play well going into Sunday. Burns absolutely can not pitch tomorrow unless its a must. BEAM isnt the guy for that game. Hopeful that Dollander goes into the 7th

It’s pretty simple - we scored 6 on a sub par night scoring runs.

Our last three starting pitchers have not pitched well.

To advance, we need exceptional outings from Dollander and Beam / Burns . . . we also have to cut our the errors - we have had several . . . And several throws that have required Lipcius to be a super hero at first. Eventually . . . Late game heroics don’t happen - we need our SP to pick it up.

If this isn’t a wake up call for them, I don’t know what one would be. The umpire might have been bad, but the loss was self inflicted. They’d have won if they’d been disciplined and played fundamentally in the field. Also, who’d have thought Blade would be that off tonight?

I am not sure why the UMP did not give him a Warning first, I am no lip reader but he did give him some lip. Should have stopped but he did not.
I have called games before at HS level and I always called the coach and player in for a discussion.
Did he? and I missed it?

and Joyce saved our bullpen. Dollander, Burns, Beam, Kirby, Mark, Zander ALL available. One game at a time, but if we can get past their ACE tomorrow then advantage shifts back BIG to us in a decisive game 3.

Cant overemphasize what he did tonight. Saved it from being a total rout and forced ND to use their bullpen. Tough row to hoe but at least gave us a shot tomorrow.

I agree, but especially in this situation I would have warned him to play ball and shut up or he was going to be ejected. 1 Warning and when it continued ejection. The UMP quicked fused Gilbert and there is no reason for either of them to do what they did.
