I just saw an article projecting Blade as a first round draft pick. I thought he is a second year player w/o redshirt. And, in that case, you have to wait three years to enter draft.

Obviously, I'm missing some intel here?

Blade will be 21 next month and should be a top 20 pick. If you’ve completed 3 years of colllege, or turn 21 within 45 days of draft, you are eligible to turn pro.

Some seats in Sec. A and Sec. E are the affected seats (which makes sense, given that's where visiting seats usually are).

Prices $75-100 for the weekend.

Define reasonable. $500.00? I think if someone sells their weekend seats they will sell for $1,000 plus. I would say a person could get $300-500 per game for UT games and sell others just for fun. Or give away to feel good about selling for UT games.

Sat tix vs GA were selling for over $300 per ticket. Regionals will be ridiculous. Hopefully they will add more temporary seating to help a bit.

From my local paper, The Jackson Sun, this morning ... "Evan Russell is closing in on tying Todd Helton's college career record of Home Runs. Evan Russell is from Lexington, Tenn.
Russell hit two homers Friday night giving him 12 this season & 37 for his college career. Evan Russell is one home run shy of Todd Helton's record at UT".

Why are we just now finding out about this? So Evan could become the Tennessee career record holder for homeruns?

yes, granted he’s been there for 5 years but will likely do it in less at bats than Helton which is remarkable. Evan’s a gamer!

Siap is what I first wrote down to lead off with but changed it to what it is now. I remember when Evan signed with the TN Vols out of HS in Lexington. It was a big deal over here in W. Tenn at the time. He's done quite well for himself ... I hope he gets drafted well too.

I appreciate this post. It was difficult not so much because of this particular topic, but because for the longest time the baseball forum didn’t have too many voices and even fewer folks who would carry the weight of starting threads that last, and all the other things that keep it interesting such as your Volshop thread.

I remember the time when I realized game threads are gonna change, when games are televised, there’s no real need to do a play by play for the folks who can’t get the Wilkerson call. There was the soldier in a foreign land getting his baseball info from right here. “Ya can’t let them down.”

Change is hard. I brought that subject to the board and we carried it on probably a year longer than we needed.

For my part, it was time to take a step back, let some new folks point us in the right direction. People stepped up.

I think people can read the difference between the different forums on VN. I don’t think we need a lot of rules. If yer mom or dad wouldn’t be proud of your post, that’s a good place to start usually.

I have no interest in deleting posts or ban hammering, this place has worked just fine for a long time opening up issues in plain sight. I prefer we discuss it, get it out in the open, the baseball forum will be what the majority want it to be and I ain’t gonna spend one ounce of my time trying to fight against it.

Here is a suggestion, maybe make some type of single running thread that doesn’t clog up the game day baseball threads, a place where people could post baseball related content but would be okay discussing and hanging out during other events like softball or whatever is going on that day? Maybe call it something like ‘The Dugout’?
