The Official #10 Tennessee @ Vanderbilt Game Thread, 7:30 PM ET, SEC Network

I think Tennessee in 2023 will be 10-2 at best and 9-3 at worst. Damn Negavols are freaking tiring!View attachment 518431

So we’re going to lose our two best receivers, get Bama and UF on the road, have a QB that can’t complete intermediate routes, and also isn’t a willing runner……..and have basically the same record as this year???

He looks good on slants too. He struggles with deep outs and go routes less than 40 yards

What are you guys watching ?

He can't hit a deep route less than 40 or over 40 .......... zero touch, just throws it over their heads.
If he hasn't figured it out by now, after 2 seasons of work under good QB coaching, it ain't gonna happen.

I mean that is possible but I am going with 8-4 for the moment.

Key will be winning @ the Swamp. If we win that game, it could set Tennessee up for another great season. If they lose it, expect an 8-4 or 7-5 type season.

So much of our offense is based on the QB making good reads post snap. RPOs but also going through progressions in passing game, Milton is going to the 9 route too much. He has the middle open but seems locked in on the long ball. That cannon works great on the WR screens though. Just keep throwing that, Vandy playing soft, take the 5 yards and move the chains

Not to mention the impact making those throws has on the defense. Heupel's system is built to draw attention and then attack the defense elsewhere, and a number of those awesome plays we saw earlier in the season came from those misdirections. You can't create those conditions if your passes are all 50 yard chucks to a fade route.

Great post. Imo Milton should be keeping the ball more (20%) considering his size, running ability, weather conditions, etc.
