Alabama has a great team. Tennessee played well last night and they had to to win. We all complain about the officials. It is human nature. I think a team generally gets a more favorable whistle at home. So I get why they are complaining.I live in Alabama ( retired military) and work with many many alabama fans. They were mostly complaining of the number of turnovers they had and pretty much complimentary of how well Tennessee played. It actually was quite nice to hear. They do complain a lot about officiating, but honestly bama usually is the recipient of more favorable calls than not, at least in my orange colored eyes.

This isn't football. You don't offer a kid a massive NIL deal in basketball to sit him on the bench.
Football you can get away with the development excuse, but not B ball. Fr come in and play every year. People who make those NIL deals happen aren't going to be as willing to give if they get burnt. It would seem to me that one of the big benefits to NIL is that the money is out in the open and separate from the program. It's too early to really tell but I would think coaches are more insulated from the pressure to play a player because of money.
Regardless, Phillips doesn’t deserve the minutes or starts he’s garnered under Barnes.
No question. I really like watching him play. You can tell he has received and listened to good coaching over the years. He got a ton of good looks because he worked for them. What’s even more beautiful is he realized his shot wasn’t falling tonight so he stopped shooting.
Whoa wtf?
Phillips is top 5 on the team in ever per game stat, I mean sure it'd be nice if he was scoring 12+ a game and grabbing 8 rebounds every night but he is still a freshmen regardless of what his star rating or HS rank was, it's a different game playing in the SEC.
He's also leading the team in FT attempts and makes. Second on the team in 2 point makes and attempts. Has as many total blocks as Uros and Awaka combined... he has earned ever bit of his 25 mpg. Just hasn't really gotten comfortable with how TN is played in the SEC. I hope he's back for another year, the experience this year will be invaluable for what he needs to work on in the off-season and him returning would fill a big gap losing Santi/JJJ will leave.
Then there are some who will congratulate the team on a great win and will call em out when they look like poo.
It's called being a fanatic.
