The Official #11/#9 Tennessee @ Florida Game Thread, 7:00 PM ET, ESPN

Vols got what they deserve. A complete embarrassment at every point, coaching, effort, LOS, game plan.

Sorry, but we weren’t given a chance tonight. If we had played well in the first half, the outcome would have been the same. We, ourselves, just gave the refs an out in the first half.

I completely disagree. It will work out and has worked out. When you have the right guy running it. Milton’s not the right guy. If the play calling didn’t tonight wasn’t enough evidence that this staff doesn’t have faith in Milton, I don’t know what is.

Our defense was putrid in the first half--which basically cost us the game--and we couldn't run the ball for a big part of the game. So to just blame the loss on Milton is unfair. Is he as good as Hooker, no. But that means your team has to bring it in other ways to win games--meaning play good defense and run the ball. That's what well-coached teams do. This idea that, well, our QB didn't complete 75 percent of his passes and rally us from 20 down to the win the game and so is "garbage" is a garbage comment.

Yeah, someone had said it was a bad sign, and we were all like ‘no way’ myself included
Something is definitely wrong. It's hard to figure out what Heupel is doing. He can't really believe this super conservative play calling will work in the SEC.

If Joe can't run his usual offense he's got to find better calls than we've seen. Screen, run up the middle, screen is not a workable offense.

If Heupel is a "one trick pony" and can ONLY run the uptempo, quick read offense, we're not going to have success with that unless he gets QBs that are ready for it.

We play the victim in every game, all game. Heup cries on the sideline all night long, but then after a guy takes a knee and we hit him, somehow that's ok. Embarrassing.

I dunno man. Looked to me like the guy was running around and then sat there with his knee a few inches off the ground to kill more time.

Screw him.

I like Joe. He’s a great young man. He’s played good at times. At this point with all the inconsistencies it’s time to realize he isn’t the answer. It’s tough to say why that is because he is a physical specimen with all the tools but he just doesn’t get the job done.
Got to move on at this point.

And anyone who dared offer any criticism of the Vols was, once again, shouted down - skewered - ridiculed - flamed - etc. I have never, and will never understand, Vol fans that worship whatever slop (and tonight was slop) that Tennessee puts out there.

Milton has not improved - you can’t fix a lack of touch and inability to read defenses (move thru progressions)
I actually agree on Milton. I just don't believe Heupel is going to throw Nico to the wolves until he feels he is ready.

Why would Nico care if he brought a 4th year senior in from the portal? If Heupel is letting Nico call the shots like that and just left us at the mercy of whatever Milton produces this year, he can go back to Oklahoma.
because he was desperate to get a qb of his caliber
