I did not feel confident all week because of our shaky offense, but I think Nico and the offense grew up a little today.
Having said that, Lance Heard needs to sit until he is ready to play, NIL be damned.
If he is so immature that sitting causes him to transfer (again), let him go, we got offensive line help on the way.
The defense speaks for itself, best game yet against a quality offense since Heupel/Banks came to Knoxville. Those guys are serious !!
Gotta mention Dylan Sampson, what a warrior and leader and, by all accounts, a great person. True Volunteer.

Our running game came alive once Nico got involved I thought. Which in turn opened up plays downfield

Also helped run blocking and pass protection that we started using a tight end/Hback in the second half

This is stupid, the Vols must get a 1st down to seal the game yet they run up the gut.

So you want to give them yardage if you d make it instead of making them go 75 yards to win with very little time left on the clock. He made the correct decision

Last week I felt we were a bit lucky to win. FL left a LOT of points on the field. Yes, our D TOOK some of those points but Napier was doing everything he could to help with boneheaded decisions.

This week, I am highly encouraged. Yes, the offense continues to struggle but we were CLEARLY the better team today. We had a couple of turnovers inside the 25, missed 2 FGs. WE were leaving points on the field. But we went out and TOOK that game.

If we continue to clean things up, start hitting some of those long balls, we will not only make the playoff, but be a legitimate threat to win it all. In short, I leave this game VERY encouraged.
