IU doinks one through. OU thinking this afternoon:

4pm - we're going to roll over IU
430 PM - Ummm, well, at least we're winning.
442 PM - They scored on us? WTF? Well, we're still winning but this is less than ideal.

Eventually the players will see that it’s all about coach Prime. Yeah, it’s fun beating a ranked team but let’s see how it unfolds when they lose a game or two and Prime starts throwing the players under the bus.
And I’m fairly confident that he will.

Well, he is the coach. He's responsible for the programs success just as any head coach is. No one complained about Heupel smoking cigars after the Bama game, because we were all estatic for the TEAM. Been on the job 9 months and beat a ranked team, the 1st game. Who has Coach Sanders ever thrown under the bus? If you're alluding to when he took over he was being honest with the talent level. He knew he couldn't win with most of the guys. Kiffin came here and got rid of 30-40% of the team by end of spring and no one Said a word. Why? Cause he knew the same as Coach Sanders. The talent level wasn't there.

Did he do it at JSU?

How many left before JH took over? 34ish IIRC.

Like it or not they completed 45% for an earth shattering 106 yards. And their biggest gainer of 30 yds was on a play where we were sharing his jersy.
That's because the front D line didn't give the QB to pass the ball not because the secondary was shutting it down. That running and not looking back is going to cause a lot of PI when we play better WR's that will try and fight to the ball

I disagree. Coach Prime is all about being the best coach he can be. He has been underestimated hurls entire life. He wants to prove he is capable of being a Top Ten coach. He wants to exploit everything he can to showcase his son. Throwing everyone else under the bus will not sit well with his players. He will be able to recruit and pull top talent through the portal. He is all about himself and he is about his kids: his players. Wait and see. He will surprise a lot of people. Will he make the playoffs; no, not for awhile.

Why in the world is a conversation about coach Prime doing I the game thread for our first game!?!?! Start a new thread and get that mess out of here.

Do you not think CJH has a handle on this and if he wanted a change in technique WITH THE CURRENT ROSTER he would be sharing with our coach? I HOPE that some of our FR get on the field and have better skill sets and can change things. BUT in the you are what your numbers say you are world they gave up a whopping 106 yards on 24 attempts for a 45% completion rate and 30 of those came on one play where our defender was sharing his jersy and he made a great catch. Guessing we will see some other guys get plays next week and we can review their technique to see if it indicates anything. Like every other segment of our team CJH owns it.
In both games we lost last year, the opponent’s passing game did us in. If we had had better secondary play, we would have been in the playoff. Heupel was the coach then too.

Yeah, that was year two and we still didn't have SEC level defensive backs nor any depth of any kind. The Virginia passing attack can't possibly have made you scared. They barely broke 100 yards for the game. Next week I hope we get some of the younger DBs in to see just how much better the talent really is. BTW, we only had one CB consistently play subpar and that was Kamal Hadden.
