The Official #12 Tennessee @ Louisville Game Thread, 12:00 PM ET, ACC Network

In the postgame radio interview, Coach Barnes read off Mashack's paltry stats for the game, then concluded by saying, "Mashack dominated the game for us today."

Love Jahmai. Love Barnes. Love this following this team.
What were his stats? I didn’t watch the post game Talk.

Louisville is very one-dimensional. 2/3 of their FG attempts were behind the arc and they have no inside presence, as evidenced by the lack of scoring in the paint and us dominating them on the boards. I hope they improve so this remains a quality win but they have a lot of work to do.
Eric Devendorf said they were his surprise team in the ACC so we can rest easy.

Solid performance with exception of all the turnovers. Lanier is composed, doesn't take bad shots and doesn't turn the ball over. Was good to see him attempt to drive today. Foul trouble limited Milicic but I think he is the key to our success this year. We need to get him going offensively. Despite all of Zeigler's turnovers that 30 foot shot he hit at the end of the shot clock switched the momentum and we cruised the remainder of the game. Gainey is playing good ball. Mashack causes havoc defensively. Still would like to see him attack the rim more on offense. We have zero low post offense at this point so more players getting to the rim and trying to get to the FT line, or creating openings for offensive put backs will be important. Cade Phillips has brought alot of energy off the bench. It doesn't appear we are going to have as much depth as I thought heading into the year, with Dubar not playing and Carr not contributing much.

We should be 4-0 before we head to the Bahamas. Just need to keep getting better each game.

Getting to watch the game now (thanks to Freak!).

Flopping your way out of a 20-point deficit might be effective during a game... but I gotta question what that does to a totally new team's personality and character? Playing the victim--even successfully--brings its own baggage that will take its toll at the end of the season.

Last year I was skeptical that Gainey deserved playing time. He’s proven/proving me wrong. He might be the go to guy when TN is struggling to score.

If Chaz gets better at being a complementary offensive threat then the Gainey/Lanier duo will be very difficult to defend. I’d rather Chaz trade some points for a few more assists.

Chaz is not naturally gifted with court vision and passing ability. It would help him be a much more complete player if he can get better at that.
