You're welcome Cobb! Glad you have some time this weekend to watch our team play. Early indications are they are a fun team to watch. Burns has been fantastic so far. It's interesting to see the mixture of veterans and newcomers in the lineup and on the bump. It's definitely the time to experiment and tinker with things. Competition will ramp up next weekend.

Enjoy watching! I'm excited we have baseball back!

When you talk about playing time, as in every level of sports there are intangibles that keep players out of the lineups. Tardiness, attitudes, missing workouts, not being a good teammate, not giving all you have and much more. Knowing Coach V this is huge for him. When I coached HS, parents and fans could not understand why certain kids were not in the lineup but they were not at practice. Attitude and not a team player was huge for me. Would keep you out of a lineup in a heartbeat.

Allows Luc to tee off. With Beck hitting behind him the pitcher can't pitch around him. Forces more fastballs to be thrown so if Luc continues to display patience and doesn't chase he will Stat stuff a lot.

Yeah, after I posted that, I thought to myself, didn’t he lead the team in HR’s last season?

He might have, he struck out a lot too because he was hitting 5 and had nobody really behind him because Russell was hitting 7th for awhile. Having Beck and Gilbert behind him means walking him could hurt more than pitching to him. He really could have a big year.
