Frustrating to see us play like this but the fact of the matter is we only have two elite players, both freshmen. Neither is a point guard.
Vescovi is a role player at best. Same with Fulky, though he overachieved last yr. JJJ was either a 4* or 5* but doesn’t play @ that level thus far. Pons is an elite defender but inconsistent on offense.

An elite point guard would do wonders for this team, any team, as he can dribble penetrate, find the open man and not wilt under pressure.

We still have four or so games remaining until the dance but the blueprint is out there on how to beat us, make us shoot threes.

Who cares! He would have left Tennessee in a heart beat for UCLA had they just offered him a little bit more.

Had to “pray” on UCLA offer. Aka just wanted to see if they’d counter offer and pay more $ for him. All these great teams. Great culture, yes! But not a winning culture!

Another disappointing basketball game just like the LadyVols game against Kentucky

Tennessee basketball just can’t get that break, to become a legit powerhouse program. This should’ve been the year that we took the next step to becoming an elite program, especially with Kentucky being garbage. Instead, we get bama playing outta their minds and now we are playing for 3rd or 4th place in the conference.
Barnes May be better suited to teach and develop 3 star talent?
Can we just have one damn thing to be excited about?
Geez, is it too much to ask to have one team be a real threat to make a run at a championship?

We don't have anyone brave enough to consistently drive to the basket... too many passes and no penetration to draw the foul...

I just don’t think this program is capable of being anything more than just good. If it could, it would’ve surely happened by now.

Tennessee was elite when Pearl was coach.
