I can’t stand people always blaming the quarterback for a loss: Milton easily was one of the best players today. What hurt us most was playcalling. We were attacking in the first half and played not to lose in the second half. Also it’s near impossible to win at bama. For what it’s worth I’d much rather beat Georgia anyway!
He has no heart. Gives us to easy. I wish he was better but he's not

I've had a nagging feeling since the UF game that we may have a slightly better Butch Jones 2.0 on our hands. Some similarities with having the wrong QB playing and getting bailed out by an injury. Also not having a QB ready to go after you lose your accidental superstar. They both run their "scheme" no matter the situation.. all runs are slow developing dives up the gut with little threat of a QB keeper - I always referred to Butch's offense as the "pretend zone read"
And people "feeling" like you do are the reason TN has been irrelevant for 20years. You forget how bad it really was. You cannot turn over coaching over and over and expect anything different.

That we went full blown conservative and played it safe by running it up the middle every other time while tossing side passes behind the los and were content with 3 in 3 trips down
The play-calling in the 2nd half was terrible. Hyper-conservative. I don't understand it either. That was the best 1st half we have played this season ... we were scared to win.

Bama Florida and Uga is what you get judged for as a coach at tennessee. Looks like this staff is going 0fer.

Extremely disappointing loss. Couldn’t have asked for a better 1st half and we just collapsed. Defense fell asleep out of the gate. Special teams buried us deep on our end of field. Coaching decisions were poor. And offense couldn’t do anything. Would be remiss if not said the refs helped Bama but that isn’t why we lost.

Was at work listening to the game. Made it home in time to see the last real Vol drive. Squirrel was being held every single time he went out for a route. Guess the whole game was that way?

Of course Banks makes him look like a 1st rounder
It’s tough on the defense when the offense goes 3 and out constantly and goes for it on 4th and doesn’t get it giving your opponent a short field. Defense has not been the issue with this team this year.

I really like Heupel as the coach & don’t want to change but he’s gotta get better at game management. You can’t go for it on your end down there, especially with a lead. If Bama don’t stop You, the refs will screw you on the mark. That didn’t lose the game but it sure helped Alabama impose their will in the Second Half.
His game management was bad at times in 21 as well. He continues to make the same mistakes over and over

Well that sucked.

Sloppy second half from play calling, blocking and tackling.

Ultimately it was not completing 1 on 1 assignments.

Milton wasn't as crisp in the second half, but it was a team effort to blow this game!

Did they spike the gatorade with benedril before the second half?

They absolutely will not call a penalty on bama. Do they have a football referee academy at bama?

This is on the coaches, regardless of how bad Milton is, especially whoever is really calling the plays. Two 1st and goals that end in fgs. Abysmal 4th down play calling as was the overall play calling after we got a a lead.
They only ended in field goals because of inaccurate throws.

Game all changed with the fair catch at the 3
Somebody is going to have to show me the rule that says waving teammates off the ball with both arms below the numbers can be called an invalid fair catch signal. Maybe it is there with the addition of the goes to 25 rule on touchbacks or fair catches but I can't find it in the book. Before that a fair catch signal required your hand to be clearly above your head and waved back and forth more than once.
Anybody got anything on that signal providing protection for the player giving it?

I’ve been watching college football for over 30 years and this is the most blatant I think I’ve ever seen. I might take a week or two off.
