This was always an 8-4 or 7-5 regular season team. Those years of scholarship restrictions didn’t go away because we had a good season last year. We have a patchwork roster that is good in a few spots and really deficient in others.

Play calling, defensive allignment, making dumb choices like calling inside runs on 4th and 1 in your own territory when a score gives them the lead on the road. Conservative out of the half. Getting punked by zebras weekly. Call their ass out. Send it to whoever you have to. Congress would love a piece of that pie. Sure the FBI can identify payrolls and subpoena replay discussions etc. The system is broken in regards to officiating. But the reason we lost is because we didnt finish the game. We played like we were scared in the 2nd half. And yes it is absolutely at the head mans feet. We completely went away from what we were doing in the first half.

Very well said. We never adjusted in 2nd half and Bama did. That is coaching and hopefully we learn.
As for the other, I don't blame refs either but some of the none calls on AL and a few of the calls against us was frustrating. That didn't cost us the game though as we need to learn to mentally settle down and get through these situations. Learn from this and move on to next week. If we let this linger, then grocery store team is liable to beat us.

Xactly!!!! Nico is really skinny and needs to put on mass or he’s going to get broken behind this line. I would like to see him this year in meaningful snaps against good opponents so he can get his feet wet and start tempering his steel. a couple of drives per game for the rest of the year.

Unless Nico can thread a needle like Betsy Ross, he’s not gonna look good. WRs are weak group. Thornton needs to be left in Alabama.

Milton IS dumb. Not even trying to win. No real attempt to get a quick score. Always fails in the clutch.

No the play calling changed and we went conservative. We also played a base defense most of the 2nd half. Very few if any blitzing. The rule on the fair catch is dumb. A legal fair catch requires the hand above your shoulder. Putting your arms out is NOT a fair catch. Going for it on 4th and 1 in your own territory ..... Worst coaching I have seen from Heupel. We clearly need a real OC that is experienced in translating what he is seeing and ways we can exploit it. Refs were terrible. However we got our asses whipped in the 2nd half

Show us our base defence.. teach us ole boys something. Going for it with one yd close to midfield when we need a spark is dumb coaching? Would it have been if we made it? I would say things like the tackle getting beat bad on Joes fumble didn’t help matters. I would say the DB’s not switching off on the long TD didn’t help. Was those two plays on the coaches? Those two plays cost us 14 points. The strange fair catch ended up costing us 3 points, thats 17 points that ain’t got a dam thing to do with coaching.

Wait - is that that mysterious, seldom-run play called the QB sneak you refer to? Doesn't that require a skinny old guy in his mid-40's to run successfully? No way that play would work with a 6'5", 235-lb. guy in his twenties that's built like a Mack truck. Much smarter to snap the ball shotgun so he has further to run and the defense has more room and time to stop him.
