I wonder if the perspective for shooters more closely resembled Villanova’s home court than Thompson-Boling. TN’s shots weren’t dropping at all while Nova had several contested 3s look easy.
There was a dang lid on the hoop yesterday TGO.

Not sure TN can beat UNC at this stage of the season, they showed yesterday they are not mature enough to handle a ranked team. Hope I am wrong, but I think we will see another barrage of Volunteer threes that miss consistently while not being able to defend the three.

UT-60
Hope you’re wrong but this IS a team that can shoot threes. Hard to imagine they’ll do it two games in a row

The kind of performance we had yesterday notwithstanding, this tourney should be favorable for us. Get a crack at a team like Nova, a loss won’t hurt us, and now puts us in a position to get a win over a brand name like UNC. Though have to capitalize. Not sure how much they can figure out between yesterday and today but they need to get it done.

Villanova sure guarded the 3-point line very well and TN failed to make them pay inside. Chandler did get to the rim many times in the 2nd half but missed several of the shots.

I don’t even know if they really have to figure out that much. We only had one guy make a three yesterday (SV) until ZZ got one in garbage time. We shot 15% from 3 with a ton of attempts.

We just need to shoot better. I know it’s an overly simplified answer but you’re not going win many (or any) game with a shooting performance like yesterday.

Limit turnovers as well. 18 is way too many

All we’ve proven so far is that the team can hit unguarded threes against bad teams. Smart coaches won’t take our inside game seriously until we prove we have one. Shooting threes on big athletic guards is hard. This team will need offense from Fulkerson , ORN and BHH. If that doesn’t develop, we’re not winning against top competition.

Too bad we don’t have someone in the post who can be relied upon when the shots aren’t falling

There isn’t anything false on that post bro
Good grief. Obviously you weren’t around during the Green era. He told fans they could go shop at Kmart (which I inserted Walmart for) instead of coming to the games. Bro.

Weirdly enough we outscored Nova by 2 in 2nd half, hopefully the squad has a good rebound game and shoots better from 3.

3p% is really hard to consistently impact. At least that’s true at the NBA level. Not sure if that’s as true in college, but usually 3p% regresses to the mean independent of the competition level. (The quantity of 3s definitely is impacted by the D though)
