The difference came when JJ picked up that unnecessary 2nd foul.
Barnes sits him and SV at the same time, SV had one foul at the time. A nine point lead evaporated.

Likely unpopular opinion: this team is as *bad* as I expected. I didnt think they were close to sniffing top 10 preseason and then they reached #2 and beat a lot of great teams.

Likely popular opinion: I know you can only do so much when the other team makes clutch 3s and your players don't, but that felt like one of the worst coached games at the end.

What we learned last year was that winning the sect means nothing for seeding which is exactly why there’s little upside in winning it (unless ur a bubble team).

I’m at work so missed the game. So it looks like we lost to Mizz again.

After attending the game yesterday and sitting close to the floor, I noticed how slow and un-athletic this team is. It’s not their fault as it is what it is.

Idk about today, but Phillips struggles when defended off the dribble which leads to a turnover. This is obvious but I didn’t realize how slow this team is without ZZ. KC could’ve pushed the ball up the floor quicker last yr but his teammates couldn’t keep up with him.

I had high hopes for this team this yr, including a week ago. But I don’t see us going too far as we have no offensive identity and now the defense is allowing 42% shooting.

That’s not how it works though. Only two teams have 3 wins over top 10 teams. Tennessee is one of them. Don’t overthink it and take the emotion of it being “your team” out of it and TN is a clear 3.

It IS how it works. We have been underseeded many times in the past despite the “clear metrics”. Many other teams too that aren’t named Duke, Kentucky or Kansas.

Be objective. There are teams our style can dominate and there are teams whose style is a horrible matchup for us. Missouri = horrible matchup.
