The Official #17 Tennessee vs. #5 Villanova Game Thread, 1:00 PM ET, ESPN News

Arnie’s won’t retire anytime soon. Would you if you were paid $5M and Got away with doing a mediocre job? He’s here until White fires him

At some point you reach an age where the massive pile of money you have means you're willing to step away from working for more. I'd say Barnes has 3 to 5 years left.

You mean DW who struck out on his main targets and had to settle for Heupel?

If you expect him to come out and hire anybody he wants, then you’re highly mistaken.
I can’t think of any coach we could have gotten I would rather have than Heupel. Heupel has done an amazing job This season.

How can your 2 big men (one a 6th yr SR and the other your best player so far this season) have 3 shot attempts between them and expect any shot at winning? This is an atrocious game plan if you can even call it that. We’ve rolled the ball out and let them do what they want.

Fulky has been extremely passive with the ball in his hands or just turned it over.

I can’t discuss with someone who wants to use Cuonzo Martin to defend his position. You’ve done this before. Changed the goal posts when you bash Barnes for no titles, but use Martin’s 20 win seasons, like that matters. Martin lost to Austin Peay his first year and got the play-in game with a talented team.

Jerry Green walked into a talent gold mine, so that doesn’t work either. Good luck making terrible arguments.

Are the last two years under Barnes acceptable, especially considering the salary raise he got? Is today acceptable?

My problem is this idea that Barnes is some sort of special coach when you actually look at what he has done compared to other coaches here, it’s not special at all.

And here I was, thinking Tennessee had a solid chance of being ranked in the Top 5 after this tournament. We better hope that UNC (I'm assuming Purdue drubs them by ~15) cares even less tomorrow than the Vols did today.
