The Official #18 Tennessee vs. Ole Miss Game Thread, 7:00 PM ET, SEC Network

2 things that we have to remember,
1, Barnes is a good man, good ambassador and respected in the world of college athletics.
2, this program is in a really good, stable place now. We shouldn’t have trouble finding the next coach, when Barnes walks away.
I’m trying real hard to be optimistic, because I DO like Barnes and appreciate what he’s done for this program, but this team is making that hard to do.
GBO!!
I love Barnes, I also have the ability to separate the fact of do we as a university want to take the next step or wallow in underperformed mediocrity for 4-5 more years. It seems like this crap keeps coming up but now he's being paid the salary to be expected to win yearly not every 3-4 years.

Ye
Coach didnt miss two layups. or the wide open shots they are bricking
Yeah, but it keeps happening. At some point it's obvious that it's systematic and something needs to be done to fix it. I think out guys play too tight.

I think the January 5th BasketVols are a mediocre team, but I do believe (maybe naively) that unless COVID derails some games, the fact we're about to play 2 games a week is going to help this team a lot. They have no flow or cadence to their game right now. We constantly look like a November basketball team because we keep having week long breaks between each game.
The LOOONG scoring droughts will kill us against better competition, I don’t care how good your defense is.
GBO!!

Between me and you, I have the feeling we’ll be wallowing in mediocrity for a couple more seasons.
GBO!!

Start the second half like the first and it’s gonna be an L. Pathetic offensively, good defense kept us in a game against an average at best team.

Just have to win the second half by three, which really shouldn't be a problem. Ole Miss' depth woes are going to come back and bite them in the second half, just like how a COVID-depleted K-State lead Texas at the half last night but got blown out as the game went on.

maybe its the players lack of execution

Could be a factor. But outside of the Grant/Admiral/Turner/Bone 18-19 season, it’s been a consistent theme no matter the personnel or starred recruits on the court.

I am by no means a Barnes hater, I think he’s done a lot for the program and put us on the radar nationally. Just think his stubbornness and lack of attention to the offense is showing as a weakness.

I’m starting to wonder if Covid has ****ed this team more than we know. We look lethargic and just not all there

Need to go out and find some shooters these guys are terrible. They had some really good looks down the stretch still nothing.
