ZZ, Vescovi and James were 10/42. It was bowling shoe ugly type stuff. I was losing my mind watching ZZ dribble so much.Maddening or not it's clear Kellie and Rick breathe the same air. TO just isn't something they do. Right or wrong and yes I don't get it because no matter what analytics tell me TO should be called. Even if they were called UF was on a mission. Refs played a part but shooting less than 30% is why UT lost.
You’re right the shooting was awful and likely lose no matter what with that kind of number, but don’t compound it (or refuse to mix it up) by letting multiple double digit runs happen right before your eyes. It’s been said he wants them to work their way through it and they need to withstand adversity etc. etc. but is he really so stubborn that he’s willing to take a potential loss to let “them play through it/learn from it”? This wasn’t a tonight thing, it’s an 8 year thing. TO’s aren’t just to get your team regrouped; sometimes it’s about making a hot shooting team, in a rhythm, go sit and think about it for a minute in hopes it snaps them out of their streak.I love all these pontifications on what coaching decision could have been made. We shot 28% on the road…. There are just some nights you can’t coach your way out of.
Really frustrating game. We have some great players but they lack that killer instinct. It’s like no one wants to step on someone else’s spotlight.
One thing is for certain is that Brandon Miller has the IQ of a melon for going to Alabama. He could have been the difference maker on this team and led us to a natty. We need a player like that.
Sucks last year we were so close to having Banchero who ended up choosing Duke over us and Miller went to Bama. So close. Add either of those guys to their respective teams and I think the. Natty is ours to lose.
The difference between shooting 28% and 42% when you take 68 attempts, which Tennessee took, is 6 more rebounds. If you surmised that in a normal scenario, Tennessee might get 2 of those six, then that’s still 16 offensive rebounds. Pretty good there. You’re gonna get a lot of opportunities when you miss 75% of your shots
Yeah forget all that scientific evidence that says timeouts don’t stop runs, he should call timeouts to appease muh feelzMaddening or not it's clear Kellie and Rick breathe the same air. Calling timeouts to stop runs is like icing the kicker. Everybody does it, and sometimes it works, but the stats say it's not really much of a thing. You’re right the shooting was awful and likely lose no matter what with that kind of number, but don’t compound it (or refuse to mix it up) by letting multiple double digit runs happen right before your eyes. Yep but for a college kid that’s not a tough turn.
Is it tougher than not traveling? Sure. Knoxville to Austin is maybe a 2.5 hour flight though. To me, being a home rather than playing on the road is a much bigger factor than travel and a 2 day turn. They probably got in Austin late Satnight/early Sunday morning from Knox and play again Monday night. That is a tough turn around even for college guys. My son played D1 baseball and often they'd get in late Sunday night and still have a game on Tuesday. Those Tuesday games are a bitch coming off a long road trip.

If you looked at Florida’s individual players before they played us, they shot decently from 3 and then they have Castleton and a top defense. I could see the argument. I know Bama killed them but I think they’re a lot better at home. I think Florida is better than VandyLaughing at the poster who tried to convince us Florida was a loss against a good team.
