The Official #2 Tennessee vs Wright State Knoxville Regional Game Thread 6PM Friday

I still don’t have my voice this morning. All raspy.

Our team is already battle tested from both SEC conference and tournament experience. I believe those experiences laid the groundwork for Drew’s 9th inning grand slam walkoff. I’ll say it again: Never count our team out. They will fight until the final out. As Drew said last night, if they get punched, it only makes them tougher. Excited for tonight’s game versus Liberty!

Other than the ump behind the plate sucking, does anyone know why UT coaches were irate with him? Was it more than just bad officiating? Seems like he might have said or done something to upset them. Even Pav and the pitching coach were yelling at him.

From what I saw, or think I saw, a few of our batters asked for the ump to call time out before a pitch was delivered, but the ump would not call for the time out. I'm guessing he thought they were asking too late. Each time it happened, the batter was frustrated and Tony got upset, asking for an explanation. The ump then waved him off, and that seemed to trigger Tony. I think that's what happened. And add that to the frustration of the bizarre strike zone of that ump, and it got to the boiling point. I was happy Tony kept his cool and didn't get thrown out.

Thanks. That wasn’t obvious on TV. The announcers couldn’t figure it out either.
