i'm still amazed that stafford was a #1 pick. that's a joke

I guess the Lions really believed the Curse of Bobby Layne and they couldn't pass up a QB that could break it.

edit: for those that don't know. Bobby Layne won 3 NFL championships for Detroit and then was traded in 1958 to Pittsburgh. As he was leaving he stated, " Detroit won't win again for 50 years." In that time they have 1 playoff win and the worse winning percentage of any team. In 2008, the 50th year of the curse, the Lions go 0-16. Matthew Stafford is a big armed QB from UGA and graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas, TX. Same high school that Bobby Layne graduated from... *cue Twilight Zone theme music*

Not a bad situation for a young quarterback in New York.

You've got Ferguson protecting your blindside, Jones and Washington in the backfield, Coles and Cotchery to toss it around to...

It's not great, but it's a helluva lot better than what Stafford's walking into.
So, you think Erik is going to do ok? :whistling:

Al Davis is senile. The NFL needs to force him to sell the team.

Either way though, I'm considering hopping on the Eagles bandwagon for my NFC team. They're gonna be exciting as hell to watch.

crazy people will spend hours arguing that they're not crazy

just like drunk people will always keep telling you they're not drunk

they were in the NFC championship game last year; this makes me wonder, maclin having a good rookie season make them a fav as the NFC team in the super bowl?
McCoy will be good for short yardage situations where Westbrook traditionally struggles. DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin could be a pretty dynamic duo.

From a personnel sense, yes, but there will be more pressure on Sanchez than Stafford. If Detroit wins 3 or 4 games they'll be a surprise. The Jets will have near-playoff expectations plus Sanchez will have to deal with NY media.

Ingram just went to Philly. That's gonna be an exciting offense.

Action Jackson
Maclin
Westbrook
McCoy
Ingram
McNabb

Ooooh baby. I'm hopping on the bandwagon now for my NFC team.

I'm liking the Titans draft. There's no big surprises and no big time superstars picked, but they're filling in alot of wholes on the depth chart. I like the pick of Javon Ringer in the 5th round too
