So, under 10 picks left now... Should we hope that the Vols end with only a single draft pick for the kids' sakes (better salary odds as free-agent at this point), or hope to avoid the embarrassment?

sorry, that title goes to JaMarcus Russell

Russell's stock shot up at a enormous clip following that Sugar Bowl. He was the #1 overall because he shredded up a less than spectacular Notre Dame team that had no business playing in that game in the 1st place.

I'm liking the Titans draft. There's no big surprises and no big time superstars picked, but they're filling in alot of wholes on the depth chart. I like the pick of Javon Ringer in the 5th round too

Why? He was an average college back who got a crap ton of carries. He's a career special teamer, if he's lucky.

Well, that's not too bad for a pick at the end of the 5th round. He was a workhorse with a bad o-line and bad passing game last season. His jr year he had a higher ypc and still had a lot of yards. He may not see the field much but if he does, he'll run hard and can catch the ball. I would hardly call him an average college back.

I highlighted the important parts. He was a workhorse because of the bad passing game, I think we can agree on that one. The problem is, he isn't any different from a multitude of other second day running backs. There is a reason you don't see too many of them succeed in the NFL outside of a Broncos-esque system.

I hope he proves me wrong (although I am a Niners fan and won't be too beat up about it if he doesn't) but I just don't see him doing anything outside of special teams, and I don't know that I see him doing that for a terribly long time.

Not a bad situation for a young quarterback in New York.

You've got Ferguson protecting your blindside, Jones and Washington in the backfield, Coles and Cotchery to toss it around to...
It's not great, but it's a helluva lot better than what Stafford's walking into.

Coles isn't on the team anymore. He signed with the Bengals. So he would be throwing to Cotchery, Keller, and Brad Smith.

It had a lot to do with his Elway-like arm, too.
