Not sure I want to relive that. Does it discuss why Harkes, one of our best players, was left behind?

I haven't got that far but it's fantastic. It's by one of Men in Blazers and he really puts things in perspective. Americans think everything is about winning, thus we don't get that excited about soccer, but the guy tells the story like losing is just as interesting.

Also, it had me on a train of thought. We've come a long ass way in my lifetime. We went from being excited about an appearance (1990) to being completeley disappointed with mediocre apoearances a few short years later. We've made a ton of progress, despite missing this year.

I will watch simply because of MIB. I do think the '98 failure helped propel US soccer in the long run and I agree about making huge progress.

I thought all 3 of these matches would be really good. I’m pretty disappointed in the first game.

Costa Rica has one of the best goalies in the world, so they should be a little aggressive offensively, nope! I don’t even know what they were trying to do offensively.

The next 2 games hopefully will be much better!

I agree, that match was disappointing.
Am very excited about the next two coming up. I hope Mexico can hang with Germany. Brazil should be fun to watch.
