The Official 2022 FIFA World Cup Thread

I know angles can be deceiving, and the live shot is at an angle, but they were conveniently right by the darker strip of grass when the ball was played. Dude was clearly onside. The automatic review I'm sure is an accurate depiction of the position of their bodies at some point, but it can't be at the exact instant the ball was played.
A much better version of the rule, particularly in the VAR era, would just be to draw the lines from the positions of the player’s feet. Beyond that you get into the tiny fractions of the angles of the player’s bodies and the subjective line of exactly where the arm begins. Front/back of the boot leaves much less room for interpretation.

Wow, clear foul the ref lets go. He blew the damn whistle when Iran had a guy down and keeps it going when we have one down. Be consistent.

I'm not a soccer tactics guy, but it would seem with 5 subs you'd want to spell people a little more than we do. I get keeping chemistry and form but at some point the tired guys become a liability, no?

At this point why we are leaving Sargent in is beyond me

I'd like to see us control the ball a little more.

Sargent needs to be pulled. He's shot.
